Happy Birthday, Dr.Victor Akpan!
Today, we celebrate a man whose life has been a lens through which the grace of God is magnified.
As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Victor understands better than most that the eye is not just an organ — it is a window. It holds the cornea that shields, the retina that receives light, and the optic nerve that carries vision to its destination. But beyond anatomy, he has come to understand that every patient who sits before him carries a story, and he has chosen, again and again, to treat both the person and the condition.
His hands have diagnosed what others overlooked. He has looked into eyes clouded by cataracts and seen not just opacity, but potential restored. He has fought glaucoma, addressed macular degeneration, and given people back the gift of sight through long outreach days and quiet clinic moments alike. And through it all, his heart has remained soft.
What you may not always see, Dr. Victor, is the full weight of your impact — the lives changed, the tears wiped, the families that left your clinic seeing the world differently. That’s a legacy no slit lamp can measure.
At Charis Eye Clinic, we don’t just work with a doctor. We work with a calling.
On this special day, we pray that your own vision remains sharp in the natural and in the spirit. May your visual acuity never diminish. May every path before you be clear, every door wide open, and every year ahead brighter than the last. May the Lord turn His face toward you and make His light shine upon you fully, completely, and abundantly.
Happy Birthday, Sir!
From your Charis family — Uyo, Abak & Ikot Ekpene.
