1. Your Consistent Thought
According to the scripture, You will agree with me that whenever you felt depressed, it was because of the consistent thought you kept having in that area of your life that made you felt displeased, dissatisfied and let down.
Often, some people accept or even validate such negative thought that leads to depression. They feel they have the right to think in such a manner.
Life can be unbearable at times, but the fact remains that regardless of what we tend to be going through or has gone through, God intends for us to align our thought with his words, not with our situations. One of the ways we can align our thoughts is by renewing our minds.

I can tell you from experience that it's easy to go into depression when you begin to conform your life to challenges, instead of guarding your heart will all diligence (Proverbs 4:23)
If you are struggling with depression, I advise you to begin to feed that area of your life where you are waiting for intervention with God's word.

2. Your Consistent Belief.
At some point in our lives, we have all held on to one belief or another that has either shaped or marred us. Hence, your beliefs largely determine the outcome of your life.
Belief is an idea that one accepts as being true or real. This is often based on a fact, opinion, and assumption.
Let's look at some of the beliefs that can cause depression.
i. The belief that everyone is better than you.
ii. The belief that marriage is a scam.
iii. The belief that you are not good-looking.
Iv. The belief that nobody loves or cares about you.
Your beliefs are formed from an early age. These beliefs are formed as a result of your surroundings; what you were told, what you heard, and what you observed and experienced.
We have three fundamental types of beliefs.
Foremost, we have beliefs about ourselves. Second, we form opinions about other people. Finally, we have beliefs about our surroundings. Our perceptions and perspectives, in turn, shape our reality.
If you are going to avoid getting into depression, you should start choosing the right thoughts and let go of every belief that hasn't contributed positively to your life.
