The Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA), led by its National Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Musa Tafida, and his team, paid a courtesy visit to the management of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital (FNPH), Benin, on Thursday, 27th August 2026.

The visit took place as part of activities marking the 2026 National Scientific Conference and Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Psychological Association, which is being held in Benin City from 25th to 28th August 2026.

The conference has as its theme: โ€œPsychology as a Tool for National Development: Bridging Science, Practice and Emerging Technologies for a Healthy Society.โ€

The courtesy visit provided an opportunity for the NPA leadership and members of its delegation to engage with the management of FNPH Benin, strengthen professional relationships, and explore areas of mutual collaboration in the advancement of psychological and mental health services.

The management of FNPH Benin warmly received the NPA delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit, while reaffirming its commitment to promoting quality mental healthcare and professional development.

The department of Nursing Services has sent forth Mrs G.R. Eigbobo after years of dedicated service in the hospital. During the ceremony held in her honour, she was eulogized for her outstanding leadership and exemplary qualities throughout her years in service.

The occasion featured the cutting of cake and presentation of gifts. She was the head of the unit in the community psychiatric and immunization unit before her retirement from service.
