NOFIC Staff Trained on Asset Declaration

Staff of the National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFIC), Ningi, participated in a training on the proper filling of the Asset Declaration Form facilitated by Mallam Bashir Ibrahim Abdullahi of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Bauchi State Office.

The training enhanced staff understanding of the asset declaration process and provided an opportunity for questions and clarifications.

The Director of Administration, Alhaji Aminu Nakaka Jibrin, appreciated the Medical Director for approving the training and thanked the facilitator for the insightful session. He urged participants to step down the training in their respective departments and units.

The Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Aboki Dunah, also encouraged staff to be diligent in completing their Asset Declaration Forms.

Airtel Officials Visit NOFIC Ningi
Officials of Airtel Telecommunications, led by Mr. Omajali Salifu, visited the National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFIC), Ningi, to explore ways of improving internet services and network coverage in the Centre.

The team was received on behalf of the Medical Director by the Special Assistant on Governance, Mallam Adamu Dahiru Bello.

The meeting provided a platform for patients to share their experiences and feedback in a supportive setting, reaffirming the Centre’s dedication to compassionate and patient-centred care.

REPORT ON THE JUST-CONCLUDED FIVE-DAY JULY 2026 POOLED EFFORT FISTULA SURGERY PROGRAMME

The National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFIC), Ningi, Bauchi State, successfully conducted its five-day July 2026 Pooled Effort Fistula Surgery Programme from 6th to 10th July, 2026. The programme recorded a significant turnout of women and girls presenting with various forms of obstetric fistula from different geopolitical zones across the country.

During the exercise, over 100 patients received comprehensive medical evaluation and appropriate interventions. Of these, 52 patients successfully underwent fistula repair surgeries, while others received conservative management and other necessary medical care based on their clinical conditions.

As part of the Centre's commitment to capacity building and continuous professional development, practical hands-on training sessions were organized for newly employed medical officers and nurses. The training was facilitated by experienced internal and external specialists in urogynecological surgery and was designed to strengthen participants' clinical competencies and enhance the quality of fistula care services provided at the Centre.

The National Obstetric Fistula Centre, Ningi, Bauchi State, remains committed to providing free, high-quality fistula repair services to women and girls affected by obstetric fistula. Members of the public, particularly those living with fistula conditions, are encouraged to visit the Centre for specialist assessment, treatment, and comprehensive care.
