RIGHT OR WRONG!
A church recently raised ₦1,350,000 for a member who was very sick. His hospital bill was ₦486,500 an amount he and his family could not afford.
During a service, the pastor announced; “Our brother is hospitalized and needs ₦486,500. Let us support him.”
Members began donating generously and by the end of the service, the total reached ₦1,350,000.
Afterwards, the pastor counted the money, gave ₦486,500 to the sick man’s brother to pay the hospital, and deposited the remaining ₦863,500 into the church account.
The problem started when the family became upset.
They argued that all the money should have gone to their brother, not just the hospital bill, because people donated out of compassion to help him with recovery, medicines and daily needs.
The pastor, however, said he only requested ₦486,500 and once that target was met, any extra money belonged to the church.
