The 2026 Batch B Stream II NYSC Orientation Camp commenced on 5th August 2026 at the NYSC Orientation Camp, Amada.

As part of the activities, the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) is recruiting and training interested Corps Members as Red Cross First Aid Volunteers to provide basic first aid support and promote the safety and wellbeing of Corps Members throughout the orientation period.

The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), Gombe volunteers, provided humanitarian support to the Gombe Cemetery along Bajoga Road by donating essential items, including firewood, shovel, and food items, to the cemetery workers.

During the donation, MALAM SHEHU, one of the cemetery workers, expressed his appreciation to the Nigerian Red Cross Society for the kind gesture and support. The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS), Gombe Branch, participated in the monthly Environmental Sanitation Exercise organized by the Gombe State Government to promote public health, environmental cleanliness, and personal hygiene. The initiative forms part of the state's commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment, with the last Saturday of every month designated as the General Environmental Sanitation Day.

Following the sanitation exercise, the Branch Secretary led a delegation of volunteers on a courtesy visit to the Branch Communications Coordinator. During the visit, the team offered prayers for his continued good health, strength, and wisdom, asking Almighty Allah to bless and sustain him as he continues to serve the Society with dedication and commitment.

On behalf of the Management, Governance, Staff, and Volunteers of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Gombe State Branch, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Red Cross Society, State # Branch, over the sudden passing of the Divisional Secretary of Jakusko Division.

We are deeply saddened by this great loss and share in your grief during this difficult time. We pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) forgives the deceased, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family, colleagues, and the entire Yobe State Branch the strength and patience to bear this irreparable loss.

The Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) Gombe Branch Youth Wing paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe, Professor Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi.

The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful engagement and discussions on strengthening collaboration in humanitarian and community health initiatives. The meeting also focused on promoting youth participation in humanitarian services and preparations for the forthcoming International Youth Camp, scheduled to take place in Lagos on 23 to 30 August 2026.

The Youth Wing expressed its sincere appreciation to Professor Yusuf Mohammed Abdullahi for his warm reception, valuable advice, and commitment to partnering with the Nigerian Red Cross Society in advancing humanitarian activities.

With complete submission to the will and decree of Almighty Allah, we regret to announce the passing of one of our brothers and a dedicated member of the Nigerian Red Cross Society Muhammad Shamsuddeen
His funeral prayer (Salat al-Janazah), Insha Allah, will be held tomorrow, Friday, immediately after the Jumu'ah prayer at Bolari Football Field Mosque, Gombe.

We humbly request family members, friends, colleagues, and the entire Muslim community to attend the funeral prayer and offer sincere supplications for Allah's mercy and forgiveness upon the deceased.

May Allah (SWT) have mercy on him, forgive his shortcomings, expand and illuminate his grave, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus as his eternal abode.

May Allah grant his family, relatives, friends, and the entire Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this great loss.

COURTESY VISIT BY GOMBE STATE AQUATIC ASSOCIATION TO THE NIGERIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY, GOMBE BRANCH

The Branch Secretary of the Nigerian Red Cross Society Alh Murtala Aliyu Tallafin Deba, alongside the Branch Coordinators, received the Gombe State Chairman of the Aquatic Association on a courtesy visit at the Branch Office.

The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the two organizations, particularly in the area of water safety and emergency response. Discussions also centered on the Aquatic Association's planned five-day workshop on Water Safety, Emergency Rescue, and Lifesaving Training, which aims to enhance the knowledge and practical skills of participants in preventing and responding to water-related emergencies.

Both parties expressed their commitment to fostering a productive partnership that will contribute to building safer communities through capacity development, preparedness, and effective lifesaving interventions.

Nigerian Red Cross Society Justice Ibrahim Wakili Jauro, Justice of the Court of Appeal, paid a condolence visit in Gombe to Justice Adamu Jauro, Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, following the demise of his senior wife. He was accompanied by a judicial colleague.
