CATARACT: THE CLOUDING THAT CAN STEAL YOUR VISION

A cataract develops when the natural lens inside the eye becomes cloudy, causing vision to gradually become blurry or hazy.

⚠️ Don’t ignore these signs:
• Blurry or cloudy vision
• Difficulty seeing at night
• Increased glare or sensitivity to bright lights
• Seeing halos around lights
• Faded colours
• Frequent changes in glasses prescription
• Double vision in one eye

Cataracts are more common with age, but diabetes, previous eye injuries or surgery, certain medications, and prolonged UV exposure can also increase the risk.

💡 The good news? Cataracts can be treated. When they begin to interfere with daily activities, cataract surgery can remove the cloudy lens and replace it with an artificial lens.

✨ Don’t wait until your vision becomes severely affected. Regular eye examinations can help detect cataracts early.

💧 Flush immediately with clean, running water or saline for at least 15–20 minutes.
