🎉 Historic moment for Physiotherapy in Nigeria! 🎉

_And Oyo State sets the Pace Again!_

*The Oyo State Government has employed 33 Physiotherapists – one for each local government area.* 🎉

This is historic – improving access to rehabilitation, reducing disability, and strengthening primary healthcare at the grassroots.

Kudos to the Oyo State Government, through the Oyo State Primary Health Care Board and the Director of Physiotherapy Services, Oyo State Hospitals Management Board for making this happen. 👏

This shows the power of government and professionals working together.

_OYNSP Celebrates World Physiotherapy Day 2025_

The Oyo State Chapter of the Nigerian Society of Physiotherapy (OYNSP) marked World Physiotherapy Day 2025 with a series of impactful activities, graced by the full participation of the NSP National President, Dr. Felix Odusanya (PT). The week-long celebration included:

1. *Media Outreach*: Engaging 4 radio stations and 1 TV station to raise awareness about physiotherapy and healthy aging.
2. *Symposia and Medical Outreach*: Hosting 2-day symposia and medical outreach programs at a senior citizen center and the Police Hospital Ibadan, offering:
- Vitals sign checks
- Anthropometric assessments
- Fall risk assessment questionnaires
- Free walking aids for patients at high risk of falls

During the Medical Outreach/Symposium at the Police Hospital, the NSP President and OYNSP Chairman, Dr. Adejare (PT), met with the hospital management, led by ACP (Dr.) Kazeem, to discuss expanding physiotherapy services in the hospital.

3. *Free Aerobic Classes*: Organizing free aerobic classes for the elderly at 2 centers: the Physiotherapy Department at the Geriatric Centre, UCH, and Jericho Nursing Home.

The celebration was a huge success, highlighting the importance of physiotherapy in promoting healthy aging and well-being in the community.
