Hello Airdrie 🤍 Hope you’ve had a beautiful week and are looking forward to the weekend ahead.

Here are a few community highlights and important updates from this week.

This week, we recognized Community Disability Services Professional Appreciation Week and Public Works Week, two groups of dedicated professionals whose work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but whose impact is deeply felt across our city. Thank you for all you do to support and strengthen our community.

Council also held our regular Tuesday meeting, where we discussed several bylaw amendments aimed at improving governance and helping City processes run more effectively for residents.

There are also some exciting events coming up in our community:

• The Airdrie Children’s Festival takes place this weekend and promises to be a fun-filled time for families and children across the city.
• On Monday, we will host the inaugural Board of Youth Affairs Town Hall, an important opportunity to hear directly from young people in our community.
• We also have our upcoming Mayor and Council Town Hall, where we want to hear from you about the concerns, ideas, and priorities that matter most to you.

Lastly, I’m excited to share that the new MyAirdrie online services portal will be launching soon to help improve accessibility and make navigating City services easier and more convenient for residents.

Thank you for continuing to stay engaged, informed, and involved in helping shape the future of Airdrie. Wishing you a safe and wonderful weekend ahead. 🤍

Today, crews from Airdrie Fire Department responded to calls involving ducklings trapped in storm drains in our community.

While these situations were easily resolved, it is important for us to share a reminder that storm drains can pose serious hazards — not only to wildlife, but also to people.

We appreciate residents who took the time to report these situations without attempting a rescue on their own.

A few important safety reminders:

• Absolutely do not attempt to enter a storm drain or lift grates yourself.

• Keep children and pets away from drain openings.

• Use caution when stopping near roadways to check on wildlife.

• If you encounter trapped animals, contact 911 in an emergency or call Airdrie 311 to help in determining the right resource

Thanks to the teamwork of our crews and concerned citizens, several ducklings were safely rescued and reunited with their mothers today.

Calls like these are a good reminder that public safety often includes helping the smallest members of our community too.

Hello Airdrie! Hope you’ve had a beautiful week and are looking forward to the long weekend ahead. ☀️

I recently stopped by Shawarma Grill to welcome the team and learn more about their journey, why they chose Airdrie, and the passion behind their authentic flavours.

From conversations about community and entrepreneurship to trying their signature shawarma platter with chicken, lamb, and beef, it was wonderful getting to know the people behind this new local food destination.

Thank you to the Shawarma Grill team for the warm hospitality and for choosing to build your business here in Airdrie. Wishing you continued success as you grow in our community. 🤍

Hello Airdrie,

Wondering where your favourite Councillor disappeared to this past weekend? 👀✨

I spontaneously took off to Dublin Ireland unannounced to celebrate my best friend’s 40th 🇮🇪🥂😄

Now back, refreshed, grateful, and ready to continue serving this amazing community 🤍
