Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Today, we join millions around the world to celebrate the incredible journey of breastfeeding, the mums who make it possible, and the families, healthcare professionals, workplaces, and communities who support them.

This year's theme, "Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works," is a reminder that when we invest in breastfeeding, we invest in healthier children, healthier mothers, and a healthier future for all.

At BreastfeedingNG, this week means so much more than a global campaign. It's a celebration of every mum who has trusted us with her questions, victories, tears, and milestones. It's a celebration of community.

And this year is especially special. Today marks the beginning of a week filled with meaningful conversations, expert-led sessions, educational content, exciting activities, and the first-ever BreastfeedingNG Mum Meet!

Whether you're pregnant, exclusively breastfeeding, combination feeding, pumping, weaning, or simply here to learn and support another mum, there's a place for you here.

Thank you for being part of our journey. Let's spend this week learning, celebrating, supporting, and strengthening what works, together.

Happy World Breastfeeding Week! Here's to healthier beginnings, stronger communities, and mums who never have to walk this journey alone.

WE'RE FINALLY LETTING THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG!!!!

For years, this community has lived online. We've laughed together, learned together, celebrated milestones, answered questions, and supported one another through the beautiful (and sometimes messy) journey of motherhood. Now, it's time to meet in person!

We're so excited to officially announce the first-ever BreastfeedingNG Mum Meet 2026, our inaugural physical community event to celebrate WORLD BREASTFEEDING WEEK 2026!

This isn't going to be just another event. It's a day we have chosen for our BREASTIES to connect, learn, unwind, make new friends, and be celebrated for the incredible work they do every single day.

DATE: 1st August, 2026
TIME: 12:00 PM – 4:00 PM
VENUE: Hitlab Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos

Attendance is FREE, but spaces will be limited, and participation will be based on a registration process. Don't worry, we'll be sharing all the details very soon. Watch this space tomorrow for more details!

We honestly can't wait to hug some of you, put faces to familiar names, and create memories together. This is the beginning of something wonderful and we're so glad you'll be part of it.

So save the date, tell another mum, and get ready.... because, BreastfeedingNG's Breastfeeding Week 2026 is going to be one for the books.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Let’s talk about something that messes with a lot of mums’ confidence; breast size. Because somewhere along the line, we were made to believe that bigger breasts = more milk and smaller breasts = less milk.
That’s simply not true.

Here’s the reality:
Milk production is not about size. It’s about glandular tissue and how often milk is removed.

Your breast is made up of:

* Fatty tissue (which affects size)
* Milk-producing glandular tissue (which actually makes the milk)

Someone can have large breasts with more fat and less milk-producing tissue. Another person with smaller breasts may have a higher concentration of glandular tissue and produce plenty of milk.

What really controls how much milk you produce?

1. How often milk is removed — by breastfeeding or pumping
2. The efficiency of milk removal — a good latch matters!
3. Your body’s hormonal signals — mainly prolactin and oxytocin
4. Your baby’s demand— more demand = more supply over time

It’s also why two mums with the same size breasts can have completely different breastfeeding experiences.

So no, your breast size doesn’t determine your milk worth.

It’s time we stop tying confidence and ability to cup sizes.
Every mum deserves to feel capable no matter what her body looks like.

Tag a mum who needs to hear this.
Save this for later.

Hey mama, can we talk? 💔

You might have whispered these words to yourself at 2 AM, tears in your eyes, baby in your arms, and a bottle on the table. The guilt hits hard, doesn’t it?

But here’s the truth: You are NOT a bad mother.

Motherhood isn’t defined by breastfeeding. It’s about love, care, and showing up for your baby in every way you can. Whether you breastfeed, formula-feed, or do a mix of both, what matters most is that your baby is fed, healthy, and loved.

Life throws challenges at us. Maybe it’s low milk supply, health issues, latching struggles, or even personal choice. Whatever your reason, it doesn’t make you any less of a mom.

Look at your baby. Do they smile when you hold them? Feel safe in your arms? That’s all you. Your love, your warmth, your care. That’s what they’ll remember and not how they were fed.

So, let go of the guilt, mama. You’re doing your best, and that’s more than enough.

Let’s support each other. Drop a 💕 in the comments if you’ve ever felt this way, or share your feeding journey below. You never know who needs to hear your story.

Save this post as a reminder that you’re an amazing mum, always!

Not everybody will understand the version of you that chooses peace.
The version of you that says no. The version of you that stops overexplaining, overextending, and constantly putting yourself last.

But sometimes, living a life you genuinely enjoy means disappointing people who were comfortable benefiting from your lack of boundaries.

And that’s okay.

You are allowed to protect your energy. Protect your mental health. Protect your joy.

Healthy boundaries don’t make you wicked, selfish, or difficult. They help you show up as a healthier version of yourself, for you and for the people you love.

So this week, my wish for you is that you stop feeling guilty for choosing yourself too.

Happy new week, breasties 💕 🤗

Today, we celebrate the boys who will one day become fathers, leaders, protectors, teachers, and examples to others.

Raising boys goes beyond providing food and shelter. It’s in the little things we teach them every day. Kindness, responsibility, honesty, respect, emotional intelligence, faith, discipline, and compassion.

This year’s theme, “Boys to Men: Adopting Good Habits and Attitudes,” is such an important reminder that the values planted in boyhood often shape the men they become.

May we raise boys who are gentle but strong, confident but respectful, ambitious but kind-hearted. Boys who know that real strength is found in good character.

Happy International Day of the Boy Child to every amazing boy out there
