Representatives of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) visited Mother and Child Hospital last week to conduct a two-day comprehensive training session on Healthcare Waste Management for all staff.

During the session, we gained valuable insights into proper healthcare waste handling and disposal, as well as the roles and responsibilities of hospital personnel, including waste handlers, cleaners, and support staff. The team provided a practical overview of their Healthcare Waste (HCW) treatment process. We were also introduced to sustainable waste management practices, including how certain types of waste can be properly sorted and repurposed to create economic value.

We appreciate the LAWMA team for an insightful, engaging, and practical session that has further strengthened our commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic healthcare environment.
