Many mothers worry about the emotional changes of puberty... especially the attitude girls develop.

While you can’t stop the shift, you can take action before it begins — and that makes all the difference.

Save this for later 💛

When a young girl develops breasts early, many mothers panic and fear the worst.

But early breast development can sometimes be premature thelarche — a harmless hormone change that often settles on its own.
Other times, it may need medical assessment.

The key is to seek for proper medical evaluation and reassurance.

Save this to remember 💛

Puberty isn’t only about physical changes.

Many of the biggest shifts happen quietly internally.

When you understand these changes, you can be able to respond with patience instead of worry… and connection grows instead of confusion.

If this helped you, share it with another mum who may need it 💚🤍

A prayer for mothers raising daughters 🤍

Ya Allah, grant our daughters healthy bodies, calm hearts, and strong faith.

Help us guide them with wisdom, patience, and gentleness.

Protect them from confusion, harm and bad influence and let them grow in confidence and modesty.

Ya Allah we ask you to make them grow to be healthy, grounded in faith (Imaan) and ready (against any evil) for the world.

Juma'at Mubarak.

Assalamu alaykum Mama,

Every girl develops at her own pace.
But there are times when it’s important to speak to a doctor.

You should seek a doctor if:

• Puberty signs appear before age 8
• There is no breastbud development by age 12-13
• Periods haven’t started by 15–16 years
• Puberty starts but then seems to stop progressing

These are not things to panic about — but they are signs a doctor should assess.

Understanding what is normal helps you know when to seek help and when to relax. That is why we added this information to our free 5 Stages of Puberty Guide.

It usually happens at the most unexpected time.

In the car.
While braiding hair.
While folding laundry together.

Your daughter starts a sentence with:
“Umm… I noticed something…”
"Umm...Is it true that..."
And suddenly your heart starts beating faster.

You want to be the one she comes to, but in that moment, words don’t come easily.

Many of us grew up in homes where these conversations were never spoken about openly.
So when the moment comes, the words can feel heavy or even “too bold” to say.

Sometimes we say:
“Go and ask your auntie.”
“You’re still too young.”
Or we gently change the topic and hope the moment passes.

But today’s children are growing up in a very different world.
Her questions and curiosity don’t stop just because you’re silent.

Sometimes a simple response with: “I’m glad you asked me" can be a game changer.

At Bintu, we believe a little awkwardness today can prevent a lot of confusion tomorrow.

And in Islam, shyness is beautiful — but it has never been a barrier to seeking knowledge or asking questions that bring clarity and protection.

Have you ever had that moment where you didn’t know what to say? 💬

PS: Be sure to download the simple guide to understanding puberty stages that's dropping this week.
It will help in making the conversation easier.
