Many early-stage founders struggle to articulate their solutions and impact in ways funders understand. Growth-stage companies struggle to unlock larger pools of capital by demonstrating scalability, reducing risk, and aligning with investor expectations.

The HTCA Grant Writing Series has been designed to tackle these problems. It is a structured session equipping health innovators with the tools, insights, and strategic perspective needed to access funding across different growth stages.

Ronald Wakhu from the Health Finance Coalition will share how blended and catalytic finance are structured in practice and what founders must demonstrate to de-risk their solutions and transition from grant funding to investment-ready models.

Bertrand Pedersen from Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance will share how growth-stage health startups can leverage platforms like INFUSE to access de-risked capital and scale through strategic partnerships.

For early-stage startups, Ibukun Tunde-Oni, CEO Eight Medical | Techstars ‘23, will facilitate a training session guiding early-stage founders on how to structure strong grant applications, clearly articulate impact, and use grants as a pathway to funding and partnerships.

Together, these sessions provide a full view of the funding journey, from early validation to scale.

A major challenge for growth-stage health startups is not just funding, it is access to the right platforms that enable scale.

Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance has played a critical role in global health, helping vaccinate over 1 billion children and preventing more than 17 million deaths.

Through INFUSE, Gavi is also creating pathways for innovation by identifying high-potential solutions and connecting them to funding, partners, and country-level opportunities. INFUSE has already catalysed over $60M in early investment and unlocked more than $200M in follow-on funding.

At the HTCA Grant Writing Series, Bertrand Pedersen will share practical insights on how founders can position their solutions to access opportunities like this.
