SILENT AUTISM STORIES | Episode 2 πŸ’™
(A fictional story inspired by experiences some autism families can relate to.)

The black SUV remained parked outside.

Kofi's eyes lit up with excitement.

"Daddy is finally home!" he whispered as he reached for the door.

But Amina couldn't move.

Her heart was pounding.

She wanted to stop him... but the hope on his face made her freeze.

The driver's door slowly opened.

A man stepped out carrying a small box.

He looked at the house, then at Amina.

"I'm sorry to come unannounced," he said gently. "I worked with your husband."

Amina's eyes filled with tears.

The man held out the box.

"He wanted Kofi to have this."

Inside was a toy car and a handwritten note.

Kofi hugged the toy tightly, smiling as if it were the greatest gift in the world.

He looked up and asked,

"Did Daddy send it?"

Amina's lips trembled.

She knew the answer.

But how do you explain forever to a child who still believes tomorrow will bring someone back?

She looked at Kofi...

Took a deep breath...

And opened the letter.

What do you think was written inside?

He waited every single day...

At the same window.
At the same time.
With the same hope.

His mother knew the truth, but how do you break the heart of a child who believes a promise is still alive?

What is autism? 🧩

Autism is not a disease, and it isn't something that needs to be "fixed."

It is a different way of experiencing and interacting with the world.

Every autistic person is unique.

Some communicate with words, others use gestures, pictures, or technology.

Some are sensitive to sounds, lights, or touch, while others seek sensory input.

Their strengths, challenges, and personalities are all different.

The most important thing to remember is this: autistic people deserve understanding, respect, acceptance, and opportunities to thrive.

Let's replace myths with knowledge and judgment with compassion.
