If you’ve ever wondered if you should donate blood, you should!! This is the amount of blood used for 1 person.

Does everyone need this much blood? No. Regular transfusions only usually get 1-2 units. However, in emergencies, patients can be ordered MTP (Massive Transfusion Protocol).

In MTP, blood gets delivered by the cooler and rapidly infused to keep patients alive.

Too often, conversations about blood began with an emergency. But what if we started before the crisis?

For 10 years, we’ve championed awareness, community engagement and donor mobilisation to help build a culture of voluntary blood donation.

We’ve made progress, learned lessons and know there’s more work to do — moving from “Who can donate?” to “I donate regularly because someone may need me.”
