This PMOS Awareness Month, we’re unpacking the story behind the change from Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) to Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome (PMOS).

So, what’s behind the new name?

For years, PCOS was often misunderstood as a condition simply about the ovaries or “cysts.” The new name recognises that the condition is broader, involving hormonal, endocrine, metabolic and reproductive health. The change is intended to support better understanding, awareness and care. 💜

We were right there in the conversations at Fertitude App · Women’s Health; the laughter, the sisterhood, the energy, and all the little moments that made # Me&MyGirls2.0 LIVE so special. 💕

We came. We connected. We talked. We laughed. And most importantly, we made beautiful memories together with Kieva Chris-Amusan

Here’s to meaningful conversations, genuine connections, and the beautiful sisterhood that makes moments like these unforgettable. 💕🥂💐

PCOS may have a new name, but the conversation around awareness, understanding and better care continues. 💜

We’re joining Fertitude App · Women’s Health in the conversation because understanding your body is an important part of taking charge of your reproductive and metabolic health.

PCOS trended online for the wrong reasons, framed as a red flag, instead of what it actually is; A common, manageable hormonal condition.

It says nothing about someone’s worth or their future. Understanding the facts is how this conversation actually changes.

“My periods have always been irregular” is one of the most common sentences we hear, and one of the most overlooked signs.

Irregular cycles are one of the clearest markers of a hormonal imbalance, and PCOS is the most common issue.

You don’t need to wait until you’re trying to conceive to find out what’s behind it.

“Can I still get pregnant with PCOS?” is the question we hear more than any other, and the answer is almost always more hopeful than people expect.

PCOS is a common and treatable cause of subfertility. Many conceive naturally, others respond well to first line treatment. The real work is finding out what your specific picture looks like.

FERTILITY MYTH MONDAY #6: “Surrogacy is for people who have up.”

Many people assume surrogacy is only an option for those who have “given up” on having a child themselves. The reality is far more nuanced.

Surrogacy is a carefully considered pathway to parenthood that may be recommended for women who are unable to safely carry a pregnancy due to certain medical conditions.

In this video, we address one of the most common myths about surrogacy and explain why it remains a valuable option for many intended parents on their journey to building a family.

Watch to learn more, and share this with someone who may benefit from accurate fertility information.
