World Hepatitis Day 2026 | Hepatitis: Let's Break It Down

As part of our commitment to promoting healthier communities, LiveWell Initiative LWI, in collaboration with Women in Hepatitis For Africa(WIHA), successfully commemorated World Hepatitis Day 2026 with an engaging and interactive webinar.

The webinar brought together healthcare professionals, researchers, interns, students, and public health enthusiasts to discuss hepatitis prevention, early testing, treatment, community awareness, and the role of research and innovation in improving liver health.

One of the key messages from Dr. Nimzing Ladep was that hepatitis is transmitted through several routes—not only from mother to child—and that purposeful interventions are essential if we are to eliminate the disease. He also introduced participants to the Liver Nutrition App, an innovative tool that encourages liver-friendly nutrition.

Participants were equally inspired by Dr. Zainab Shariff, who highlighted the importance of scientifically validated herbal medicine, proper dosage, and stronger collaboration between traditional and modern healthcare systems to improve health outcomes across Africa.

We sincerely appreciate our CEO, Dr. Adebisi Bright, for her visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to health education and community empowerment. We also thank our distinguished speakers, partners, interns, and everyone who joined us and contributed to the success of this webinar.

Together, we can break down stigma, misinformation, and barriers to care. Let us continue to promote awareness, encourage early testing, support vaccination where appropriate, and work collectively towards eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat.

💙 Together, let's break it down and build healthier communities.

💛 **Today is World Hepatitis Day!** 💛

Every day, millions of people around the world live with viral hepatitis—many without even knowing it. Yet, hepatitis is preventable, treatable, and, in some cases, curable.

At **LiveWell Initiative (LWI)**, we believe that awareness saves lives. Through our community outreaches, health education campaigns, screening programmes, and partnerships, we remain committed to promoting early detection, prevention, and access to care.

This World Hepatitis Day, we encourage everyone to take a simple but life-changing step:

✅ Get tested.
✅ Know your hepatitis status.
✅ Get vaccinated against Hepatitis B if eligible.
✅ Seek medical care if diagnosed.
✅ Help spread accurate information and end the stigma surrounding hepatitis.

A healthier future begins with informed choices and collective action. Together, we can reduce new infections, improve access to care, and move closer to eliminating hepatitis as a public health threat.

Let's protect our families, our communities, and our future.

💛 **Know your status. Protect your liver. Save lives.**
