Schizophrenia affects about 23 million people around the world, yet many people still don’t really understand what it is.

What it actually is...

It is a serious mental health condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, and experiences reality.

Sometimes, this can look like:
I. Hearing or seeing things others don’t
II. Holding very strong beliefs that aren’t based on reality
III. Feeling confused or having disorganized thoughts.
IV. Pulling away from people or behaving differently

The earlier someone gets support, the better. It often starts in late teens or early adulthood, and getting help early can make a big difference.

With the right care, medication, therapy, family support, and a strong community, many people go on to live full, meaningful lives.

In fact, some people recover completely.

At the end of the day, this is about people.

Real people who deserve understanding, patience, and support, not judgment.
