YOUR FAMILY'S MARITAL PATTERNS
In your preparation for marriage, one of the things you must consider is "How Marriages worked in your Family".
Why? Because it can determine the trajectory of your marital life. If you come from a family where Marriages did not work, it can affect how you view Marriages. That's why it's important for you to watch and pray when choosing a partner, because you can never tell where that person is coming from. Only God can truly reveal.
There are people who love the idea of marriage but don't believe it can work because they came from homes where marriage was full of chaos. It was better, their parents never got married or were separated.
There are families where the Man must have two or three wives, even if he is 'Born Again '. If your are marrying that kind of man you need to ask God for directions and guidance aside seeking for counseling.
If you noticed that your family's marital pattern is quite negative then you need to seek God's direction in breaking free from such patterns so you don't find yourself living in it.
But you first be Born Again, Spirit -filled and living right. You can't be playing games and say you want to break free from negative patterns.
For instance, you want to break free from wrong marital patterns and you are already double dating. How do you want God to help you when you aren't living right?
There are people who have found themselves in bad/wrong marriages because they were playing games with thier marital lives.
If you want the right result you must be ready to invest the right resources but on the right foundation not a faulty foundation.
So what do I do? Repent, break off all wrong lifestyles, rekindle your relationship with God and he will start to guide you on what to do and if need be seek guidance and counseling.
