*🌍 LIMH World Blood Donors Day 2026*
Date: *Tuesday, 16th June 2026*
Theme: *ONE DROP OF HUMANITY: GIVE BLOOD, SAVE LIVES*

*✨ Overview*
On Tuesday, 16th June 2026, Lagos Island Maternity Hospital (LIMH) will join the global community in commemorating World Blood Donors Day. This year’s theme, “One Drop of Humanity: Give Blood, Save Lives”, underscores the profound impact of voluntary blood donation in saving lives and fostering solidarity across communities.

*🚶 Morning Awareness Walk*
The day will begin with an awareness walk to the Health Service Commission (HSC), Sangrose, and surrounding environs. This walk aims to sensitize the public about the importance of safe blood donation, encourage volunteerism, and highlight the life‑saving role of donors.

*🧪 Donor Fitness Testing*
Following the walk, volunteer donors will undergo fitness testing to ensure their eligibility and safety for donation. This step emphasizes LIMH’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety for both donors and recipients.

*❤️ Main Donation Drive*
The highlight of the day will be the blood donation exercise, where volunteers will contribute their “one drop of humanity” to save lives. Each unit of blood donated represents hope for patients in need, from mothers in childbirth to accident victims and those battling life‑threatening conditions.

*🌟 Call to Action*
LIMH invites staff, community members, and partners to participate actively in this noble cause. Together, we can make a difference—because every drop counts, and every donor is a hero.
