A Healthy Dietary Lifestyle Gives Longevity.

A heart attack at age 60 doesn't begin at 59—it begins in your twenties. The food you eat today silently sets the biological stage for your health decades into the future.

The human body is constantly replacing its cells, and food provides the literal building blocks for that ongoing reconstruction. Over the span of 10 to 20 years, the physiological compound interest of those daily materials alters the physical architecture of the body.

The skeletal system operates on a multi-decade delay. Peak bone mass is reached around age 30. The calcium, vitamin D, and protein intake during the first three decades of life determines the maximum density of bone tissue a person will draw from for the rest of their life. The most vivid example of this biological compound interest is atherosclerosis—the buildup of plaque inside arteries. Years of high circulating LDL cholesterol, elevated triglycerides, and systemic inflammation lay down microscopic streaks of fat in blood vessel walls. Decades later, that slow accumulation hardens into the blockages that cause strokes and heart attacks. Conversely, specific dietary patterns can halt this process, and in some cases, visibly widen the arterial pathways again over a period of years.

Care For Your Kidneys

Signs of kidney damage often appear in the body during the morning. Through these symptoms, our body tries to warn us. Therefore, they should not be ignored, as ignoring them can worsen kidney-related problems. Let’s take a look at the symptoms that appear in the morning when the kidneys are damaged.

1. Swelling on the Face
If you notice unusual swelling on your face, especially around the eyes, when you wake up in the morning, it could be an important sign of kidney problems. The kidneys filter out excess sodium and water from the body through urine, but when there is a problem with the kidneys, they cannot filter properly. As a result, salt and water start to accumulate in the body, causing swelling.
2. Foamy Urine
Pay attention to your first urine in the morning. If it is foamy and takes time to clear even after flushing repeatedly, it is a matter of concern. Foamy urine indicates a high level of protein, a condition called "proteinuria." Healthy kidneys allow essential proteins in the blood to stay in the body and only remove waste products. But when the kidneys are damaged, this filtration process is disrupted, leading to foamy urine.
3. Bad Breath
Strong or unusual morning breath that doesn’t go away even after brushing could be a sign of kidney problems. When kidneys cannot filter waste products like urea properly, the body breaks down urea into ammonia. This ammonia is released through the breath, causing an unpleasant, ammonia-like odor.
4. Dry and Itchy Skin
Waking up with dry, itchy skin can also indicate kidney damage. Kidneys help maintain the balance of minerals such as phosphorus in the body. When kidney function declines, phosphorus levels rise, leading to dryness and itching. Additionally, toxins accumulating in the blood may irritate the skin further.

A very common illness here in Nigeria mainly caused by a Plasmodium parasite deposited into the bloodstream through mosquito bites (Anopheles mosquitoes).
Other rare ways it can spread:
1. Mother to child - Congenital malaria during pregnancy or birth
2. Blood transfusion - If donor blood has parasites and isn't screened properly
3. Shared needles/syringes- Contaminated needles can pass infected blood
4. Organ transplant - Very rare, from an infected donor.

Symptoms: Fever, headache, body weakness, chills
Remedies:
Bitter leaf (Vernonia amygdalina): Boil the leaves and drink the water to help reduce symptoms
Neem leaves (Dogonyaro): Boil and inhale the steam or drink small amounts.
Ginger + garlic tea: Helps boost immunity and fight infection
Stay hydrated and rest well
Please Note: Natural remedies can support recovery, but malaria can be serious, proper testing with good diagnosis and medications are often necessary.
Conclusion
