*Don't* *Allow* *the* *Disease* *to* *Grow*
In Western Medicine, Watch-and-Wait refers to a period of time when you have no treatment for your condition.
Let's put it in simple terms.
You are diagnosed *early* of a disease, you are still feeling significantly well, and because the disease is not yet creating inconveniencing symptoms or pose disturbing threats to organs like the liver, or kidneys; the physicians, instead of finding *early* solution to your problem shift or postpone your treatment until the disease grows or you start having disturbing symptoms.🤷♂️
The key factor here is that the " *disease is allowed to grow* ".
Watch-and-Wait is often applied when the toxicity associated with the treatment is massive, like in chemotherapy, because physicians will not want to subject someone who is still feeling well to the realities of harsh drug events.
So, they will prefer to wait until the disease grows and starts creating *distressing* symptoms and this distress will help mask the problems coming from the drug treatment.
In fact, the *distress* will force the person to relegate the toxicities from the drugs for the temporary relief from the drug treatment without realizing it is the primary reason why the treatment was delayed.
Whatever reasons are given for "wait-and-watch", the truth is that it is a *medical death sentence* because you are being subtly informed that there is nothing they can do to change the course of the disease for good. Otherwise, any intervention that may heal a disease later, will probably perform better if it is given early.
You detected a disease early; why then allow it to grow?
What happened to the concept of early detection?
Remember, when you are placed on any treatment that effectively manages symptoms, but does not in any way change the course of the active disease for good; you are in another kind of "Watch-and-Wait". Though you you managing your symptoms well, but the disease is still growing.
