New week.
New school runs.
New rainy mornings .

And sometimes, the smallest habits make the biggest difference for children during this season.

Simple things but they go a long way in keeping children comfortable and healthy through the rains.

As we prepare for the week ahead, this is your gentle reminder to add a few rainy season essentials to your child’s routine.

Sometimes, children stay uncomfortable for hours before getting home, especially during rainy mornings in Lagos.

This season, a simple change of socks, dry clothing, proper handwashing, and keeping little feet warm can go a long way in keeping children comfortable and healthy.
Small habits.
Big difference.

Structurally human foot makes up to 26 bones, 33 joints and over 100 muscles, ligaments and tendons.

As cute as shoes could be, it could be a bit uncomfortable for a toddler just learning how to walk.

Meanwhile walking barefoot helps the kids to:

➡️ Strengthen the foot and toes

➡️ Lessens stumbling and falling

➡️ It aids balancing

➡️reduce shoes tightness

➡️it aids body movement

When you were a kid, did you camp out on the couch with your siblings and fight over what show you’d watch on the family TV?

Today, your child(ren) have fewer limits when it comes to controlling a screen. They can watch many at once, and carry them wherever they go.📱💻

As amazing as the technology is, your child can benefit from less time with it.

Here are some tips on screen time with babies and toddlers📺;

👼🏽 Under 18months, it is best to have no screen time(if possible). Video chatting is fine.

👼🏽 18-24 months, limited screen time (15-30mins) is fine for them.

👼🏽 2-5years, screen time should be limited to 1 hour per day. Keep content high-quality and educational.

👼🏽 Model appropriate screen time behavoiur and limit your own screen time usage.

👼🏽 Remove or shut off screens 2 hours prior bedtime to encourage healthy sleep habits.

Don't worry if your little one's screen time doesn't match with the ideal one.
Real life isn't always ideal, after all🤷🏼‍♀️🤭 but it's better to aim for a better screen time.
