There are tragedies that shake communities. Then there are tragedies that force a country to look at itself.

Families sent children to school expecting education, safety, and ordinary days. Instead, many have spent weeks carrying fear, uncertainty, and grief.

When schools become places parents fear, something fundamental has broken.

This is about affected families. This is about children who should still be dreaming freely. This is about teachers who should never have to risk their lives for education.

We cannot keep treating attacks on children as moments of outrage before moving on. Because children should not have to survive school. They should simply be able to attend it.

There is a particular kind of heartbreak that comes when children become part of stories they were never supposed to be in.

Families sent children to school expecting ordinary days. Teachers showed up to do work that shapes futures. Instead, communities are carrying grief, fear, and questions that should never become normal.

Reports indicate that educators lost their lives. Families remain separated from loved ones. And now, there are reports that one little girl may never return home.

The impact of violence does not end when the news cycle moves on. It stays with families. It stays with classmates. It stays with children learning too early that safety is uncertain.

Children deserve schools where learning is the only thing they have to worry about.

Support affected families. Demand safer schools. Refuse to normalize violence against children and educators.

In a world that constantly tells people what success should look like, choosing your own path is an act of courage.

Build a life that aligns with who you are not just what others expect.

Some things will work out beautifully. Some things may not go as planned. Either way, life keeps moving.

So be kind to yourself. Breathe, rest, try again and keep going.

Women continue to redefine leadership spaces across the world, and Catherine Ardagh’s recent appointment as Minister of State at Ireland’s Department of Justice, Home Affairs and Migration is another reminder that representation in decision-making spaces matters.

Her appointment comes at a time when conversations around governance, justice, migration, and public policy continue to shape societies globally. Stepping into this role places her at the center of decisions that impact communities, institutions, and national development.

Women in political leadership bring diverse experiences, fresh perspectives, and stronger representation to spaces where critical decisions are made. Every appointment like this creates more room for women and girls to see leadership not as an exception, but as a possibility.

As more women step into positions of influence across politics and governance, milestones like these continue to highlight the importance of inclusive leadership and representation at every level.

Congratulations to on this appointment and the responsibility that comes with shaping policy, leadership, and impact.

Playing small has never protected anyone from disappointment, failure, or criticism anyway.
So ask, start, speak, try, leave and begin again if you must

If you must be something today, be audacious!
