The Executive Secretary of the Borno State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (BODMA), Pharm. Dr. Umar Abdulkarim, today accompanied His Excellency, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, FNSE, FNIAE, CON, on a sympathy visit to victims of the recent bomb blast receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH).

The delegation comprised top management staff of UMTH, distinguished Senators, and members of the House of Representatives.

During the visit, Governor Zulum expressed deep concern and heartfelt sympathy to the victims and their families, reaffirming the government’s support throughout their treatment and recovery process. He assured them that the state would continue to provide all necessary medical and humanitarian assistance to ensure their full recovery.

In a bold step toward strengthening healthcare delivery, the Borno State Government, under the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, FNSE, FNIAE, CON, has commissioned the first BODMA Zonal Warehouse (South) in Biu Local Government Area.

This landmark achievement comes under the leadership of the Executive Secretary of BODMA, Pharm. Dr. Umar Abdulkarim, whose commitment continues to expand access to essential medicines across the state.

The facility will support primary and secondary healthcare facilities in Biu, Bayo, Kwaya Kusar, and Hawul Local Government Areas.

Equipped as a pharma-grade warehouse, medicines are stored under controlled ambient temperature, ensuring quality, safety, and effectiveness.

With a full range of essential medicines and medical consumables available, the warehouse will strengthen the supply chain and improve healthcare services for thousands of residents.
