When a stroke happens, what comes next can determine the outcome.

Last Saturday, we collaborated with the Government College Umuahia Class of ’77, hosted the second edition of the Men’s Health Matters Webinar Series.

The session focused on the important topic:

“I Am Having a Stroke—What Are My Treatment Options?”

The discussion highlighted the treatment options available after a stroke occurs, the importance of getting to a properly equipped hospital without delay, and why early medical intervention can significantly improve a patient’s chances of recovery.

Stroke treatment is time-sensitive. Depending on the type of stroke and how quickly the patient arrives at the hospital, treatment may involve emergency medications, specialised procedures, close monitoring, rehabilitation, and ongoing care.

If you recognize the signs of stroke act FAST, do not stay at home, self-medicate, or wait for the symptoms to disappear. Seek emergency medical care immediately.
