Your liver works quietly every day but when it’s being threatened , your body may start sending signals.

It’s important to remember that these symptoms are not specific to liver disease and can occur with many other health conditions. The only way to properly assess your liver health is through a medical evaluation, which may include a physical examination and appropriate tests.

If you’ve noticed any of these symptoms, especially if they persist, don’t ignore them. Early assessment can make a significant difference.

Your skin does more than protect you, it can also give you clues about what’s happening inside your body.

Sometimes, changes in your skin don’t just happen suddenly. They can be your body’s way of signalling that something needs attention.

-Yellow skin or eyes may point to liver related issues.
-Dark patches on the neck or underarms may be associated with insulin resistance.
-Flaky or persistently dry skin could be linked to dehydration, eczema, or other skin conditions.
-Frequent acne flare ups may be influenced by hormonal changes or stress.
-Pale skin or lips may suggest anaemia.
-Sudden hair thinning can sometimes be related to aging and chronic organ disease.

These signs do not diagnose a disease on their own, but they shouldn’t be ignored either. If you notice persistent or unusual changes, it’s worth speaking to a qualified healthcare professional for proper evaluation.

Your skin can tell you more than you think. Pay attention to changes, and don’t ignore persistent or unusual discolouration.

Different colour changes and their meanings, are cited in the design above.

Vitiligo is often misunderstood, which is why accurate information matters.

In this Q&A, Dr. Bela answers some of the questions about vitiligo: What is vitiligo? What causes it? Who can develop it? Is it contagious? What are the risks, and when should you see a dermatologist?

Vitiligo is an autoimmune condition that causes the skin to lose its pigment, resulting in white patches. While it isn’t contagious or life-threatening, it can have a significant impact on a person’s emotional well being and may be associated with other autoimmune conditions in some individuals.

Whether you’re living with vitiligo, know someone who is, or simply want to learn more, watch and share because better knowledge leads to better skin health.

This is the part 1, like, follow and share for part 2.

Community education alert!!

It will be my pleasure to have you tune into Well Wednesday 93.7. Its about time we share knowledge and get reminded that protecting the rights of children includes making healthy skin care decisions.

It must me said loud and clear that bleaching a child's skin is child abuse.

Child abuse is any act or failure to act by a parent, caregiver, or person in a position of trust that results in harm or places a child at an imminent risk of serious harm.
