Let’s talk about the most underrated fertility nutrient: WATER.

When we are dehydrated, every system in our body slows down, including our reproductive system. The most immediate impact is on cervical mucus.

Right before ovulation, your mucus should transform into a consistency resembling raw egg whites—stretchy and clear. This mucus is the ferry that carries s***m to the egg. Without it, s***m can't survive the journey.

If you are dehydrated, that mucus remains thick, sticky, or absent. You can take all the supplements in the world, but if you’re not hydrated, you’re blocking the path to conception.

Your Action for Today:
Hydrate with intention. We are not just chugging water; we are nourishing our uterine environment.
• Aim for 6-10 glasses of filtered water a day.
• Swap one dehydrating beverage (like a second cup of coffee or soda) for a fertility-boosting herbal tea. It could be Red Raspberry Leaf: A classic uterine tonic, rich in vitamins and minerals or Spearmint Tea: Shown to lower free testosterone levels, amazing for women with PCOS.

Today’s Focus: Hydration Inspiration
• Water Recipe: Fill a large pitcher with water. Add sliced cucumber, lemon, and a few sprigs of fresh mint. Let it infuse overnight. This makes drinking water feel like a treat.

The Power of Complex Carbs
Carbs have gotten a terrible reputation, haven’t they? But let’s get the fact straight. In fertility medicine, we don't fear carbs; we fear the wrong carbs.
When you eat a simple carbohydrate like a piece of white bread or a sugary snack, it hits your bloodstream almost instantly; causing that insulin spike we discussed. But when you eat a complex carbohydrate, one that is wrapped in fiber, your body has to work harder to break it down. It’s like a time-release capsule for energy.
Fiber is the real hero of fertility, because it binds to excess estrogen in your gut and helps your body excrete it. If you are constipated or not eating enough fiber, that old estrogen gets re-circulated in your blood, creating "estrogen dominance," which can suppress ovulation and cause heavy, painful periods.
Your Action for Today: The "Half-Plate" Rule.
At lunch or dinner, make sure half your plate is non-starchy vegetables (broccoli, leafy greens, peppers). For the starchy carb portion (1/4 of the plate), make the swap.
• Instead of: White rice, white potatoes, white pasta.
• Choose: Quinoa, brown rice, sweet potatoes, lentils, or beans.
Today’s Meal Focus: The Slow Burn Dinner
• Recipe: Hearty Lentil & Vegetable Soup.
o cook an onion and two chopped carrots in olive oil.
o Add 3 cloves of garlic, a tsp of cumin, and a tsp of thyme.
o Add 1 cup of dried brown lentils, 4 cups of veggie broth, and some diced tomatoes.
o Simmer for 30 mins. Stir in a handful of chopped kale at the end.
o Serve with a side of quinoa for extra protein and fiber.
• Why this works: Lentils provide steady-release energy and are a fantastic source of fiber and folate, which is vital for preventing neural tube defects in early pregnancy.

3 THINGS TO REMOVE EXCESS ESTROGEN FROM THE BODY!

1. SUPPORT YOUR GUT

Your body removes excess estrogen through your liver, but it’s your gut that carries it out.
If your gut is not healthy, that estrogen gets reabsorbed back into your body and that’s how estrogen dominance continues.

What to do:
- Take probiotics (very important)
- Eat fiber-rich foods (vegetables, fruits, flaxseed)
- Drink enough water daily
- Reduce sugar (bad bacteria feed on it)

2. SUPPORT YOUR LIVER DETOX

Your liver is the main organ that breaks down estrogen.
If your liver is overloaded with processed foods, toxins or stress, estrogen won’t be properly cleared.

What to do:
- Start your day with warm lemon water
- Add foods like broccoli, cabbage, kale (they help estrogen metabolism)
- Include turmeric and ginger
- Reduce processed foods and fried foods

3. AVOID ADDING MORE ESTROGEN INTO YOUR BODY

Many women are trying to “remove estrogen” but are unknowingly adding more daily through skincare, cooking and eating utensils etc.
These are called xenoestrogens (fake estrogens from your environment).

What to do:
- Avoid heating food in plastic
- Reduce use of harsh chemical skincare/products
- Reduce intake of processed foods
- Choose more natural, whole foods

With consistency, your body will naturally start balancing estrogen levels without stress.
And this is especially important if you’re dealing with:
- Endometriosis
- Fibroids
- PCOS

Have you ever been told that fat makes you fat?

Well, I’m here to tell you that, that notion is wrong—at least when it comes to the right kind of fat. If you are trying to conceive, low-fat diets are actually anti-fertility.

Here is the science: Every single reproductive hormone in your body—estrogen, progesterone, testosterone—is synthesized from cholesterol. Yeah! That’s right. Cholesterol is the building block. If you don’t eat enough healthy fats, you are not providing your body with the raw materials it needs to build a healthy egg or prepare your uterine lining.

Also, fats are essential for absorbing fat-soluble vitamins like Vitamin A, D, E, and K, which are vital for implantation and fetal development. Healthy fats also slow down the absorption of sugar, keeping that blood sugar stable we talked about in our previous post.

Your Action for Today:
Don’t be afraid of the fat. Add a "fat boost" to one of your meals.
• Drizzle high-quality olive oil over your veggies.
• Add half an avocado to your salad.
• Sprinkle a tablespoon of flaxseeds or chia seeds into your yogurt or smoothie.

Today’s Meal Focus: The Hormone Builder Lunch
• Recipe: The "Fertility Power Salad."
o Base: 2 large handfuls of mixed greens or arugula.
o Protein: 4-6 slices of grilled salmon (rich in Omega-3s, which reduce inflammation).
o Fats: Half a sliced avocado and a tablespoon of h**p seeds.
o Dressing: Whisk together 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, juice of half a lemon, salt, and pepper.

Why this works: This meal is packed with Omega-3s (salmon), monounsaturated fats (avocado), and Vitamin E (h**p seeds/olive oil)—a powerhouse combination for cervical mucus quality and hormone production.

Let me know in the comment section your favorite way to eat avocado?

Your ovaries listen to your blood sugar.

Let’s break that down. Insulin is a key that unlocks your cells to let energy in. When we eat refined sugar or simple carbs (like white bread, pastries, or sugary coffee drinks), our blood sugar goes up. The pancreas panics and releases a flood of insulin to bring it down. This steep spike and crash is stressful for your body.

High insulin levels directly tell your ovaries to pump out more androgens (like testosterone) and can actually stop an egg from maturing and releasing. It confuses the brain-ovary conversation.

By stabilizing your blood sugar, you lower that insulin and allow the delicate dance of FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Luteinizing Hormone) to happen naturally.

Your Action for Today:
Fix your breakfast. The first meal of the day sets the tone for your blood sugar for the entire day. No more coffee alone or a pastry on the go.

Meal Focus: The Stabilizer Breakfast
Scrambled eggs; cooked in a little butter or olive oil. A handful of fresh spinach in the same pan until wilted. Serve with a small side of mixed berries (blueberries, raspberries).

• Why this works: The protein and fat from the eggs slow down digestion, preventing a sugar spike. The fiber from the berries feeds your gut microbiome, which is essential for metabolizing and eliminating old hormones.

Let’s do this together. Post a photo of your breakfast in the comments!

LET'S TALK ABOUT VITAMIN D

Vitamin D has anti-proliferative properties. It reduces the growth of cells that form fibroids. It also affects fibroids by modulating hormone activity, especially estrogen which plays a role in fibroids growth.

Vitamin D has been found to inhibit angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels form, by preventing new blood vessels from forming. It can reduce the nutrient and oxygen available to fibroids, potentially slowing or stopping thier growth.

Vit D reduces collagen buildup ( fibroids are collagen rich tumors) and slows fibroid cell multiplication.
