Children show us what kind of future we are building. What they see, hear, and feel today shapes the kind of people they become tomorrow. Every child comes with their own thoughts, dreams. Some children have parents to guide them, and some feel alone. Some have a voice and are heard, and some have things to say but no one to listen. Today, we speak for all of them. Your story matters. Your dreams matter.
Our job is not to force children to be like us. Our job is to help them think clearly, ask good questions, and believe that their ideas matter. When we teach a child how to think, we prepare them for a world that will always be changing. And we must make sure that no child is left behind because of where they live, what they wear, or who they have or do not have at home.
Protecting children means more than keeping them safe from danger. It means protecting their hope and their courage. When we tell a child โyou are too smallโ or โthat will never work,โ we slowly break their confidence. But when we listen, encourage, and allow them to try again after failure, we help them grow strong on the inside. A child who feels safe to fail will become an adult who is not afraid to try.
To every young person reading this: do not wait for permission to matter. Whether you have everything or almost nothing, your voice can change things. Some of the biggest changes in the world have come from people who started with little and refused to be quiet. Do not make yourself small to fit into a world that is too narrow. Grow, learn, and keep pushing until the world makes space for your vision.
To the child on the street, to the child in the orphanage, to the child who feels unseen, hear this: you belong. You are loved. You have a place in this world.
The future is not far away. It is growing right here, right now, in you.
