WE CHECKED WHAT YOU ACTUALLY BOUGHT THIS YEAR
Not a list of what we'd like to sell. Twelve months of real sales data, counted.
5. VITAMIN D3
The one that surprises people most.
Vitamin D deficiency is common across Africa despite our abundant sunshine.
Indoor work. Covered clothing. Urban lifestyles. And darker skin pigmentation can all affect how much vitamin D your skin produces from sunlight.
“We have plenty of sun, so we can't be deficient.”
That's a common assumption. And it's not necessarily true.
You may not notice that your vitamin D is low. A blood test can tell you your status.
4. MAGNESIUM GLYCINATE
Magnesium bound to glycine. Popular for sleep, relaxation and muscle function.
If magnesium has upset your stomach before, the problem may have been the form or dose. Magnesium glycinate is often better tolerated than some other forms.
Same mineral. Different form. Different experience.
3. PROXEED PLUS
A male fertility formula containing L-carnitine, acetyl-L-carnitine, folic acid, zinc, selenium, vitamin C and B12.
Carnitines are involved in s***m energy metabolism, and clinical research has found benefits for some s***m parameters, particularly motility.
Two sachets a day, consistently.
S***m production takes roughly 72–90 days, which is why we don't encourage men to judge a fertility intervention after just a few weeks.
Fertility is rarely a six-week project.
2. OMEGA-3 FISH OIL
EPA + DHA.
The strongest evidence is around triglycerides and cardiovascular health.
But for people trying to conceive, omega-3s are also relevant to reproductive health and s***m function.
And during pregnancy, DHA supports fetal brain and eye development.
1. UBIQUINOL
Our number one.
Ubiquinol is the reduced form of CoQ10 and is generally considered more bioavailable than conventional ubiquinone formulations.
Your mitochondria use CoQ10 in cellular energy production - one reason it's so popular in conversations around egg and s***m health.
The evidence for s***m parameters is more established; research around egg quality is still developing.
We'd rather tell you that than oversell it.
And if you take a cholesterol-lowering medicine called a statin, it's worth knowing that statins can reduce CoQ10 levels. Ubiquinol may be something to discuss with your healthcare professional.
THE PART THAT SURPRISED US
Three of our top five are fertility supplements.
We never set out to be a fertility pharmacy.
It happened because couples trying to conceive kept finding us, asking questions nobody had properly answered, and coming back.
So we'll say it plainly:
If you're trying to conceive, this is a pharmacy that understands what you're actually going through.
We know the timelines are long.
We know the waiting is hard.
And we know how easy it is to spend money on things that may not actually help.
So here's what we'll do:
We'll tell you what the evidence supports.
We'll tell you what it doesn't.
We'll tell you when a test should come before a purchase.
And we'll tell you honestly when something isn't worth your money.
What we won't do?
Promise you a baby.
Nobody can.
And anybody who does is selling you something.
