For several days, Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, became a beacon of hope and healing as KCare Beyond Borders, in partnership with the Ajose Foundation, collaborated with the hospital to provide free specialist surgical care for residents of Ogun State.
The medical outreach transformed countless lives through a wide range of life-changing procedures, including thyroidectomies, fibroid surgeries, hernia repairs, orthopaedic procedures, and other specialized surgical interventions. The initiative brought relief to many patients, restoring health, relieving pain, and significantly improving their quality of life.
The outreach received strong institutional support, underscored by a visit from the Chairman of the OOUTH Board, Dr. Kunle Hassan, who commended the medical team for their dedication, professionalism, and unwavering humanitarian commitment to serving the people.
In recognition of the mission's outstanding impact, members of the KCare Beyond Borders Team paid a courtesy visit to renowned philanthropist Alhaji Sulaiman Adebola Adegunwa, donor of the Sulaimon Adebola Adegunwa Foundation Trauma Centre at OOUTH, at his residence in Ososa, Ogun State. He applauded the team for their compassion, medical excellence, and steadfast commitment to improving lives through quality healthcare.
A major highlight of the outreach was the visit of the First Lady of Ogun State, Her Excellency, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, who commissioned two newly donated colposcope machines alongside Chief Mrs. Temitope Adeola, wife of Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi). The state-of-the-art equipment is expected to significantly strengthen cervical cancer screening services and improve women's healthcare delivery at OOUTH.
Speaking during the commissioning, the First Lady praised the KCare Beyond Borders Team for their selfless service and invaluable contributions to healthcare delivery in Ogun State. In appreciation of her unwavering support for quality healthcare initiatives, she was presented with an Award of Appreciation.
Beyond providing specialist surgeries, the outreach also fostered knowledge exchange, as the visiting medical team worked closely with OOUTH healthcare professionals, sharing expertise, strengthening local capacity, and promoting best practices in patient care.
The successful collaboration reflects OOUTH's unwavering commitment to building strategic partnerships that expand access to quality healthcare, promote medical excellence, and improve the well-being of the communities it serves.
