Before Embish, there was Emem.

My name is Emem, founder of Embish Janitorials and Placement Limited.

For those meeting me for the first time, welcome. 🤍

I absolutely love helping people and businesses enjoy clean, organized, and healthy spaces without carrying the stress themselves.

That is to say, today I lead a company that provides professional cleaning services and reliable cleaners to homes and organizations in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria.

But the truth is…

I never woke up one day and said, “I want to own a cleaning company.”

This journey started from a place of questioning.

I was working in the bank.

And if you have worked in a bank or know someone who has, you will understand that sometimes the environment can be unpredictable.

One day everything looks fine.

The next day, someone gets to work and realizes their access has been removed.

Someone else receives an email they were not expecting.

I saw it happen. Not once. Not twice.

And it made me ask myself a very important question: “Emem, what is your Plan B?”

“What does the world need that I can offer value for?”

“What problem can I solve with something that comes naturally to me?”

And every time I thought about it, one thing kept coming back.

Cleaning.

I have always loved clean spaces.

I love organization.

I love putting things where they belong.

Someone even labeled me OCD because I always love order. 😂

But did I ever imagine cleaning could become a real business?

No.

To me, it was just something I loved doing.

Until someone opened my eyes to the possibility.

So I checked out other people already doing it.

I tried to understand it from afar.

Then I decided to start.

Not perfectly.

Not with everything figured out.

I simply started.

I began sharing cleaning tips online.

Teaching people how to clean better.

How to organize their homes.

I wasn’t even selling.

I was just sharing something I genuinely loved.

For months, nothing happened.

Then after 9 months…

I got my first client.

And that first job was more than payment.

It was confirmation.

It was the beginning of trust.

It showed me that what looked normal to me could actually solve a problem for someone else.

That was how the journey began.

A simple love for clean spaces slowly became something bigger.

And the Plan B I was searching for…

started becoming the vision I didn’t know I needed.
