“Nobody Warned Me”

Nobody warned her that childbirth could change more than her sleep schedule.
After having a baby, some women notice changes in:
• pelvic-floor strength
• vaginal sensation
• bladder control
• intimacy
• confidence in their bodies
And because nobody talks about it enough, many women quietly wonder:
“Is this just how my body is now?”
No.
Your postpartum body deserves understanding—not shame, embarrassment, or miracle promises.
ILE OBIRIN is creating practical, women-centered resources to help you understand what can change after childbirth and what you can do about it.
You are not the only woman asking this question.

You are not broken. ❤️

Childbirth changes a woman in ways people don't always talk about.

Your body changes.
Your routines change.
Your emotions can change.
Even the way you see yourself can change.

And sometimes, in the middle of caring for everyone else, you quietly wonder:

“When do I get to feel like myself again?”

If you've ever asked yourself that question, we want you to know something:

You are not broken.

You are a woman who has been through something extraordinary.

Healing doesn't have to happen overnight.
Confidence doesn't have to return all at once.
And taking care of yourself isn't selfish.

At ILE OBIRIN, we believe women deserve honest, gentle, practical conversations about their bodies, their wellbeing, their confidence, and their journeys.

This is a place to learn.
A place to breathe.
A place to remember yourself.

Welcome, sister. 🌸

There is a part of motherhood we don't talk about enough.

After the baby arrives, everyone asks:

“How is the baby?”

And that's a beautiful question.

But sometimes, the mother is quietly wondering:

“How am I?”

Not just emotionally.

Not just whether she's getting enough sleep.

But how her body feels.

How intimacy feels.

How comfortable she feels in her own skin.

Whether the changes she's noticing are normal.

Whether she'll eventually feel like herself again.

These aren't silly questions.

And they aren't questions women should have to whisper.

What do you think makes it so difficult for women to talk openly about their bodies after childbirth?

I'd really like to hear your thoughts.

16/08/2026

Nobody told me that having a baby could change the way I experienced my own body.

People prepared me for pregnancy.

They prepared me for labour.

They prepared me for sleepless nights, breastfeeding, nappies and learning how to care for a tiny human.

But somewhere along the way, I realised that nobody had really prepared me for me.

For the changes I might notice in my own body.

For the questions I might have.

For the moments when intimacy felt different.

For that quiet thought:

“Will I ever feel like myself again?”

And perhaps the hardest part wasn't even the change itself.

It was not knowing who to ask.

Because some questions feel too personal to say out loud.

Some women simply keep them to themselves.

I don't think they should have to.

ILE OBIRIN was created as a space where women can talk about women's wellness with knowledge, dignity and without shame.

So let me ask you something:

What is one change after childbirth that you wish somebody had prepared you for?

You don't have to share anything personal. Even a general answer is welcome.

Let's start the conversation.

15/08/2026

Some conversations are easy.

What did the baby eat?

Did you sleep?

How is work?

Are the children okay?

But then there are the conversations women sometimes lower their voices for.

The ones about intimacy.

Changes in the body.

Pelvic-floor problems.

Desire.

Dryness.

Confidence.

Things that can feel embarrassing even when they are completely human.

I've come to believe that silence doesn't make those things disappear.

It only makes women feel like they are the only ones experiencing them.

So let's make this a place where we can talk about them without shame.

**What is one women's-health topic you wish people spoke about more openly?**

No judgement.

Just conversation.

There was a time when I could look in the mirror and immediately recognise myself.

Then life happened.

A pregnancy.

A baby.

Sleepless nights.

Changes I didn't expect.

And one day, I caught myself looking at my own reflection and thinking:

**“When did my body become so unfamiliar to me?”**

I don't think enough women talk about that moment.

Not because we don't care about our bodies.

Because we're often so busy caring for everyone else that we forget we are still in there too.

Sometimes the journey back to confidence doesn't begin with changing your body.

Sometimes it begins with looking at it again without criticism.

Has your relationship with your body changed over the years?

I'd really like to hear from you.

Call now to connect with business.

12/08/2026

I remember how strange it felt the first time I realised that becoming a mother had changed more than my routine.

My body felt different.

My priorities were different.

Even the way I looked at myself was different.

Everybody wanted to know how the baby was doing.

Almost nobody asked:

**“How are YOU doing in your new body?”**

That question stayed with me.

Because women go through so many changes quietly.

Sometimes we laugh about them.

Sometimes we ignore them.

Sometimes we don't even know who to ask.

That is one of the reasons ILE OBIRIN exists.

A place for the conversations women have in their heads but don't always have out loud.

So let me ask you one:

**What is one thing nobody prepared you for about becoming a woman, becoming a mother, or simply getting older?**

You can say it here.

Let's talk.
