Unpopular opinion: the wellness industry is overwhelming you. Let me explain

Every year, it seems that corporations come up with a new “magic” ingredient that’s supposed to solve all our issues. Moringa, Spirulina, Ashwaganda, you name it, someone probably has already claimed it’ll give you a boost, make you feel less tired etc…

But what they forget to tell you is that it’s not the ingredient itself that’s magical, it’s the routine.
While all these ingredients are in fact, powerful, the ritual of consuming these ingredients consistently over time is what makes them efficient.

That’s why you will always hear me say, “take this consistently for 4-8 weeks to see true results.”

My immunity blend is not a quick fix, because there is no such thing.
Rich in Huang Qi (astralagus root) - this is one of the most popular herbs in the Chinese herbal medicine pharmacy. The Immunity Blend I created is meant to strengthen the body's Qi and supports the immune system.

I recommend it as we enter this cozy autumn season and it's great against:
ª fatigue
ª frequent colds / nasal drip
ª support recovery after illness
ª Support the immune system as we transition into Fall

In Chinese medicine, digestion isn't just about your gut, it's the center everything else depends on.

In clinic I check it a few ways: feeling your pulse, working points like the one on the foot, and sometimes something as simple as warm oil over the belly to get things moving again.

5 signs you have balanced digestion in TCM:

Stable energy throughout the day
Healthy appetite
Comfortable digestion
Clear thinking and concentration
Well-formed bowel movements

7 signs you have weakened digestion in TCM:

Bloating after meals
Loose stools or constipation
Water retention
Fatigue, especially after eating
Brain fog
Sugar cravings
Feeling heavy or sluggish

Which list sounds more like you right now? Come see me in clinic and let's find what works for you.

Here’s my September TCM food inspo for you: Make your breakfast a grounding daily ritual 🫰

Digestive weakness is one of the most common patterns I see in practice. In fact, I could easily say that more than half of my acupuncture patients show signs of an Earth element imbalance.

That’s why I created the Digestion Blend.

This medicinal food blend was designed to support healthy digestion, reduce bloating, improve the body’s ability to transform food and fluids, and strengthen the Spleen and Stomach from a Chinese medicine perspective. Rather than masking symptoms, the goal is to support the underlying digestive function that allows the body to create energy more efficiently.

Available in the apotheek or on our webshop 💫👩🏻‍🌾✨

“I’m always bloated after meals, my digestion is so sensitive!” - I hear this in my clinic on the daily.

You may think these symptoms are normal because they’re so common:
• bloating
• loose stools / constipation (or both!)
• food intolerances and allergies
• fatigue after eating
• simply feeling uncomfortable after meals
• stress induced bowels

In Chinese medicine, digestion is not simply about breaking down food. It is the body’s ability to take what is nourishing, transform it into energy, and distribute it where it is needed most. Nowadays, we can all use some gut healing - one of my fav ways to do that is through consistency and superfood ingredients (like Jujube)

For 21 days, choose a room-temperature foods and beverages, and try to add more soft stewy foods into your diet. These seemingly small habits can have a significant impact on how the body processes food and creates energy. Hope this helps 🍵

Why I'm writing a women's health book under (a work in progress!)

I'm often surprised by how little information most women have about their own bodies, especially in their 20s and 30s, before pregnancy has happened, when the experience of being a woman is still blooming in so many ways.

I'm writing this book because it's not only a personal journey for me, but also a mission: to help women understand their bodies through a framework of medicine that simplifies things and reconnects us to our own inner wisdom and nature. I want women to understand that sometimes there's a lot of wind, a storm, hail; and sometimes, after all of it, there's a sunset. And that's completely okay!

This is also an effort to help others learn that the way modern medicine dismisses women's symptoms isn't supportive, nourishing, or holistic.

I want women to feel like they can navigate their symptoms, no matter how bizarre!
And that starts with understanding patterns and learning the language of your body.

September is a time to cozy up and transition during the second summer, an important seasonal moment on nourishing Spleen + Stomach (Earth).

I see this often in the practice - whether it’s bloating, loose stools, food sensitivities, fatigue after eating, constipation, or simply feeling uncomfortable after meals, digestive symptoms have become so common that many people assume they’re normal.

What if your digestion is the reason you feel so out of balance?
The modern way of life has disconnected us from the process of nourishing ourselves:
• We eat on the go / grab fast food between meetings
• skip meals
• rely on smoothies and protein shakes
• consume more cold drinks than warm meals
While convenient, these habits can place a significant burden on digestion over time.

What if you ritualized your self-nourishment for 21 days? (see slide 4)
Let these Traditional Chinese Medicine principals alleviate your digestive issues - inspired by my own upbringing and common forms of I see in the practice.

Pro tip: Keep a journal and see how powerful your body habits can be!

My back is here to have an insta-moment.

Have you ever met anyone who walks around with dark purple marks on their backs? They might have had a cupping session (like me!) The colors of the cupping marks tell me what I need to know.

When stress builds, Qi stagnates and can transform into what we call "internal heat"
Cupping along the upper back - especially around the upper thoracic spine and shoulder area - helps move Qi and Blood, release tension, and create space for the nervous system to downshift, clearing heat, thereby reducing inflammation.

What the spots mean:
- Barely any colour: blood and Qi deficiency
- Droplets of water within the marks: excessive dampness and internal cold
- Mild redness: healthy blood circulation
- Red bruises and deep purple bruises: heat and stagnation

Have you tried it before? Share your cupping experience in the comments 😊

Gua Sha: not just for beauty, but a tool to help you balance the heat from this summer.

In Chinese medicine, common heat patterns of the body can show up as:

• irritability / poor sleep / mouth ulcers
• headaches / acne / feeling “wired but tired”

Gentle gua sha along the neck, shoulders, and upper back can help release tension, move stagnant Qi, and disperse excess heat that accumulates from stress, overwork, and emotional overwhelm.

Rediscover how to use your gua sha in the video and tell me it helps! 🙏🏼

Summer heat is full on in Amsterdam and I’m here to share some TCM tips on how to balance heat this week.

After a busy period I’m also excited to step into this month of August working on my book, slowing down, cleaning out my studio, and working on new forms of content with my team. We’re trying new format. Let me know what you think! 🌞

This past week has been a really fun learning moment working with my dad during my pop-up in Provence. Over the last few summers I have built a small local community who have welcomed us with open hearts and open minds. Despite the heat, we've had a lot of fun, reconnecting sharing stories of the year, and watching the changing of seasons once again,
