First encounter is a bit from both sides. But I’m sure they will become inseparable sooner or later. 💞

6 year old me picked this name for her daughter while dancing in the living room with someone to this .

I didn’t expect to have only one daughter. But of course she is my .

No eyes of emerald green.
No auburn hair.

Oh how I wished to be more like .

To have someone like begging me to not take their man.

Everyone who knows the song and meets my daughter starts singing immediately.

So of course ny daughter isn’t a fan of her %name.

Like I never was for mine.

This song feels like childhood for me.

And today more than ever.

It’s strange that I knew I would have a daughter back then.

When I was pregnant I wanted to name him Matteo. I was convinced it would be a boy.

Matteo was the most popular name during that time in the part of Brussels where we lived.

Such a great voice. Such a great star. Such a great legacy.

In the beginning, it’s easy to believe that if you just try hard enough, you’ll get back to who you were.

You try to understand yourself.
You try to change your thoughts.
You try to control your emotions.
You try to heal the parts of you that hurt.

And when nothing seems to change, you try even harder.

But what if healing isn’t about trying harder?

What if some of the things you’ve been fighting against are actually asking to be heard?

That’s something horses have taught me again and again.

A horse doesn’t ask you to be different.

It doesn’t ask you to be stronger, happier, calmer or more confident.

It simply responds to what is there.

The tension in your body.
The fear you’re carrying.
The emotions you’re trying not to feel.
The parts of you that have learned to protect you.

And when you stop trying to hide those things, something can begin to shift.

Not because you forced it.

But because you finally created enough space to listen.

This is one of the reasons I believe so deeply in the healing relationship between humans and horses.

Sometimes the horse isn’t there to “fix” you.

They’re there to help you notice what is already happening inside you.

To slow down.
To come back into your body.
To feel safe enough to be where you are.

Acceptance doesn’t mean giving up.

It doesn’t mean staying stuck.

It means saying:

This is where I am right now.
This is what I’m carrying.
And I don’t have to fight myself to move forward.

When we stop fighting everything inside us, we create space.

Space to breathe.
Space to feel.
Space to hear ourselves.
Space to heal.

And sometimes, in the quiet presence of a horse, we remember something we had forgotten:

We don’t have to become the person we used to be.

We can become someone new.

Someone more connected.
More authentic.
More whole.

Maybe healing isn’t about finding your way back.

Maybe it’s about finding your way home. 🐴🤍

At the end of a Reiki with horses session, clients often take a moment to thank the horses for everything they have held, mirrored, and helped them release. 🐴✨

The same is true when you’re around horses. Does your presence create fear or safety?

Horses will show you immediately what your inner state is, especially when your outer state and inner state don’t match.

The safer they feel around you, the closer they will come.

This was one of my very first Reiki sessions. Esaiiah spent most of the session standing very close to my client.

Both felt safe, allowing deep and emotional release to unfold naturally. ❤️
