I am Ümit Dağ, an optician at Dag Optiek in Hoofddorp, the Netherlands, with a special professional interest and expertise in vertigo, dizziness and headache-related complaints.
My area of focus is the relationship between vision, eye coordination and the vestibular system, including the Vestibulo-Ocular Reflex (VOR). I am particularly interested in understanding how the visual and vestibular systems work together and how visual factors may contribute to dizziness, visual discomfort and headache-related complaints.
An important part of my professional expertise is the Utermöhlen Prism Spectacle and the specific Utermöhlen prism method. At Dag Optiek, we specialize in the assessment and fitting of these specialized prism spectacles according to this method.
For this specific field of expertise, we completed a two-year specialized training program under the guidance of Dr. Eric Vente. This has given us extensive knowledge and practical experience in applying the Utermöhlen method in situations involving visual coordination, visual processing and balance-related complaints.
At Dag Optiek, our approach goes beyond measuring visual acuity. We also pay close attention to eye coordination, binocular vision, eye movements and the interaction between the visual and vestibular systems.
