UPCOMING COURSES ON NEIDAN
I have recently received a lot of questions if I am giving courses in English language. I intend to run in Autumn an introduction course online in English. Also I will offer the Dutch people a Dutch language follow up on my previous course. I also intend to give live classes, this might be organised in Spring most probably at Qing Bai. But some other courses might run as well, maybe even one in Indonesia this winter.
Later we plan also to have a retreat and we would be delighted to have our dear friend and excellent teacher Robert C***s also again around for the more advance classes and a retreat.

For those already studying with me there is always the opportunity to reach out to me and ask questions in relation to practice or individual guidance.
The topics of next courses can be:
1) Introduction into the basic premises and practices of Neidan, an eclectic approach using the strong points from the different currents in Neidan.
2) The full 13 techniques of Min Yide, a great Neidan master who also devised a special system which bridges Qi Gong and Neidan, well suited for beginning practioners, or people who want to enjoy a good health.
3)Follow up on Basic courses, more guided practices, background information and instructions if one proceeds along the path beyond the basis.
4) Reading classes, reading neidan texts, pondering about them, meditating about them, reading them carefully and also interpreting them, along with commentaries and the knowledge passed through my teachers.
There is a huge amount of texts out there , but we could start with texts which also bear a very practical hallmark and give the student much information and insight around actual practice.
5)The bridge between Medicine and Neidan. How Neidan deeply influenced Chinese medicine and also how medical ideas influenced Neidan. Gaining a deeper understanding of often poor understood topics like the Ba Mai and Ming Men Theory. We will visit the great Chinese physicians who practiced Neidan or were inspired by it, we look at the interactions in literature, but we also focus on the clinical relevance, how can we become better therapists and being able to cultivate ourselves and our patients.
5)Another topic I would like to share with dedicated students in the future is the interaction between other Internal Alchemical systems in Asia , mainly Tibetan Buddhist Ta**ra, Dzogchen and Daoist Neidan. There are overlaps and divergences, but it is clear these traditions interacted with each other at certain periods in time. Especially concepts like the Central Channel has a shared importance in Vajrayana but also in some Neidan schools, especially the Middle School. In how far there is confluence and interacting is still a topic for further research, but the function of the central channel has proven to be of vital importance in relation to health and also in the transformative alchemical process.
I have myself dedicated to study all three systems deeply over 40 years and have come to the conclusion that it is very interesting to look at the overlaps. Although I would discourage students to mix up stuff, since they are different approaches, but understanding them to some level can broaden your vision and help your practice.
Also medical traditions like Osteopathy pay a lot of attention to the Central Channel (Mid Space/Line). I teach in Europe the Engaging Vitality approach, this an approach developed by my teachers Dan Bensky and Charles Chace in which Osteopathy, East Asian Medicine and elements from Neidan are all integrated , we pay a lot of attention to a healthy central channel in relation to a physical , emotional and even maybe “spiritual “, well being. So my experience has been that a healthy physiological function of the Central Channel is vital for a good health, and next to that it is a pathway to non duality and transcendence from a Daoist and Buddhist viewpoint.
