Oh No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As many of our regularly customers already know..
Saturday the 30th of January 2027 Hielander Scottish Restaurant
Will be closing our doors for the last time. Our restaurant has now been running for almost 40 years and with the 16 years before that working in the Hospitality business, that means that both Gerie and myself have been working non-stop in the Restaurant business for 56 plus years,
it's time to retire.
We have had some incredible ups and downs, we started our restaurant with Isla Blokker-McMorland in the maxi-cosi behind the bar , 5 months old in 1989 at Ridderstraat 17, in 1994 we opened the new restaurant at Ridderstraat 15, 5 times as big. One year later came the twins Andra & Iona McMorland .
Since then the restaurant has been an amazing success, we won awards, we achieved everything we wanted.
We have made some incredible friends for life who started as customers . We have customers still coming from day one, customers who got married here because their parents also got married here.
Both sets of parents ( no longer with us) would have been incredibly proud, as we both are of our wee business.
Both Gerie and I would like to thank the many thousands of guests who visited us over the last decades.
In the months ahead we will carry on as you are used to at Hielander.
Unfortunately all Fridays and Saturdays until 30.01.27 are already completely fully booked, there are still some tables for Wednesday's, Thursday's and Sunday's available.
