Your energy dips might be telling you more than “you need more coffee.” ☕️

In Chinese Medicine, we don’t just look at whether you’re tired, we look at when you’re tired, what triggers it, what makes it better and what other symptoms show up alongside it.

Because there’s a difference between: waking up exhausted, crashing after meals, running out of energy in the afternoon, feeling tired but wired at night, being completely drained by stress or feeling depleted around your period

They may all feel like “fatigue”, but from a TCM perspective, they can reflect very different underlying patterns.

Your body communicates through patterns.

The more you learn to recognise them, the more you can start giving your body what it actually needs. 🤎

You cannot endlessly nourish everyone else from depleted soil.

Earth teaches us to receive, digest, ground, nourish and return to centre.

Maybe the question isn’t: “How can I do more?”
Maybe it’s: “What would truly nourish me right now?”

Save this for those heavy, foggy late-summer days 🌾
But remember: Chinese Medicine is never one-size-fits-all. This tea is more suitable for a Damp/weak digestive picture.

If you tend to have signs of Heat or Yin deficiency, such as feeling very hot, night sweats, a dry mouth or throat, strong thirst, constipation/dry stools, or a red tongue with little coating, warming and drying ingredients, particularly ginger and Chen Pi, may not be the right choice for you.

Your individual pattern always matters more than the season. 🤎

We often think health is about treating disease. Chinese Medicine sees it differently.

Health is something you cultivate every single day. Small habits. Daily choices. Living in harmony with your body instead of constantly fighting against it.

Which of these principles resonates with you most?

通则不痛,不通则痛
Tōng zé bù tòng, bù tōng zé tòng.

This has always been my mum’s favourite Chinese Medicine saying.

It’s simple, but it holds one of the most important principles of Chinese Medicine. Pain is often a sign that something isn’t flowing as it should.

That “flow” may be Qi, Blood, body fluids, or the healthy movement of muscles and joints. When that flow becomes blocked, discomfort can arise.

Our goal isn’t just to cover up pain.

It’s to understand why the flow has been disrupted and help restore balance.

Funny how the things our parents repeat over and over eventually become the things we believe most. 🤎

You’re not too emotional.
You’re not too sensitive.
You’re not too controlling.

Chinese Medicine has been observing personality patterns for thousands of years.

Some of us naturally lead with Wood energy.
Others with Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water.

Each element comes with incredible strengths… and predictable challenges.

The interesting part?

The things that make you amazing are often the same things that can throw you out of balance.

The driven person becomes frustrated.
The passionate person becomes overwhelmed.
The caregiver becomes exhausted.
The perfectionist becomes critical.
The deep thinker becomes fearful.

Which element feels most like you?

It sounds backwards... but sometimes the thing that makes you feel cooler in the moment can make you feel hotter later.

Ice-cold drinks temporarily cool the mouth and throat, but they also force your digestive system to work harder to warm everything back up.

Instead of constantly fighting the heat, try helping your body regulate it naturally.

Your body is smarter than you think.

Sometimes it doesn’t need more cold.

It needs better balance.

☀️ Save this post for the next hot day.
☀️ Share it with someone carrying a giant iced coffee right now.

❗️But here’s where Chinese Medicine differs from many modern health trends:

There is no one-size-fits-all solution.

If you tend to run hot, experience hot flushes, feel irritable, sweat easily, have a red tongue, or often feel overheated, these cooling teas may be a wonderful addition during summer.

However, if you have a colder constitution, cold hands and feet, low energy, loose stools, a preference for warmth, or signs of Yang deficiency, these teas may not be the best choice for you, especially in larger amounts.

Chinese Medicine is not about constantly cooling or constantly warming the body.

It’s about creating balance.

The goal is not to fight the season.
The goal is to support your body’s unique needs within the season.

Your iced coffee, iced water, iced smoothie, and skipped lunch might be making this heatwave harder on your body.

I know that’s not what most people want to hear.

But in Chinese Medicine, summer isn’t about fighting the heat.

It’s about working with it.

The goal isn’t to shock your body with cold.

The goal is to stay balanced.

Swipe through for 5 simple Chinese Medicine tips that can help you feel more energized, sleep better, and survive these hot days without running on empty.

☀️ Save this for the next heatwave.
☀️ Share it with someone who carries an iced drink everywhere.

Many women are told that PMS, exhaustion, mood swings, cravings, period pain, and hormonal acne are simply “normal.”

But normal doesn’t always mean optimal.

Chinese Medicine views these symptoms as valuable information. They’re your body’s way of telling you that something may be out of balance long before blood tests show a problem.

The goal isn’t to silence the symptoms.

The goal is to understand what they’re trying to tell you.

Which of these signs do you notice most often?

⚠️ Remember: Chinese Medicine does not diagnose hormonal disorders from symptoms alone. These signs can have many different causes, and an individual assessment is always important.
