WE CELEBRATE LIFE, WE CELEBRATE LUCA

In loving memory of Luca, and to honor the impact he had as a yoga teacher, a friend, and a human being to so many people in The Hague and beyond, we invite you to join us for a special yoga class on Sunday, June 21st in the Paleistuinen.

Together, we will move, breathe, and practice in the spirit of gratitude for the life Luca lived and the countless lives he touched 💙

After the practice, we will serve Italian limonade & cake. This will be a time where we can share stories, memories, food, laughter, and moments that remind us of who Luca was and what he meant to us.

Luca loved teaching yoga, sharing his wisdom, bringing people together, and creating genuine connections. This gathering is an opportunity to celebrate all of that.

Everyone is welcome. Whether you join us for the practice, the gathering, or simply to be together, your presence is enough.

Bring: Your own mat (a towel is perfectly fine too)

We will provide drinks and cakes. You’re very welcome to bring something to share as well, as we have no idea how many beautiful souls may join us.

We look forward to coming together to celebrate Luca’s life, his spirit, and the connections he helped create.

May we move together, remember together, and celebrate a life that touched so many.

LUCA

With this message we share the news of Luca’s passing on Tuesday the 9th of June.

Our thoughts are with Tanya and Penelope, Luca’s son and daughter, as well as his family and friends during this difficult time.

We feel immensely grateful for the journey we shared with Luca. He touched our lives and our hearts in countless ways, and we are really grateful for the time, laughter, and friendship we shared with him the last couple of years 💙

We met through yoga years ago and worked together from time to time on various projects at several studios. Then, in 2023, quite unexpectedly, the five of us ended up opening a yoga studio together. We cannot express how special that was, and still is. A true labour of love. We all brought our own roles and, yes, our own personalities to the table 😎 And that turned out to be our strength.

In his final message to our team, just a few days ago, Luca mainly spoke about love. We could not have agreed more. Because, in the end, love is what matters most in this life.

Luca loved life. He loved yoga. He loved teaching.
We have never known anyone as positive, optimistic, and genuinely able to go with the flow as Luca. We admired him for that, and for so much more.

Luca, we will miss your energy, your warmth, and your presence. You stepped into The Yoga Alley adventure with us from the very beginning: one man and four women, that alone was a courageous yoga practice in patience, balance, and surrender 😉

The Yoga Alley will always remember you. That is your legacy.

SUMMER SOUND BATH 🎶💙

Our friend returns to the studio for a beautiful sound bath with Alchemy Crystal singing bowls.
 
The sound of Alchemy Crystal singing bowls allows you to relax your body and to quiet the mind. In this special session you will feel the vibrations of the sound flowing through your body. Automatically, our cells will resonate with those vibrations. Time and space will fade out for a moment and our bodies can start to feel weightless.
During a sound healing session, it is possible to enter the Theta brainwave state. This is a deep meditative state where creativity is boosted and healing happens.

WELCOME CARRY 😻

We have a new cat in the family, she goes by the name of Carry:

“The magic for me as a teacher is in witnessing how people unfold and “land” back into their bodies during practice, to see their faces softening. I know this feeling well, because I feel it almost every time when I practice yoga myself.

I fell in love with yoga some 20 years ago. Over the years my yoga mat has always been a place for me to come home and connect with myself, wherever I am in the world or in my life.

My focus as a yoga teacher is on holding space for an embodied yoga practice, inviting every-body to move to their own rhythm and capacity. My style is infused with mobility practices, using flow, momentum and functional movement.

Embodiment is at the core of all my classes: inviting you to tune into what an asana actually feels like for your body. Really working inside > out.

Having coped with a stressful job and a burn-out myself, I know the importance of taking into account the nervous system and having a holistic body-mind approach.

I’m looking forward to meeting you on the mat.”
