🕊️ 19th of August is World Humanitarian Day 🕊️

Every humanitarian crisis is different, but the need for compassion, healthcare, and access to medicines remains constant. This year the United Nations call on the world to protect humanitarian workers, inviting others to join the call with the campaign. IPSF recognises the dedication of humanitarian workers including pharmacists and pharmacy students who continue to serve communities through humanitarian action.

Together, let us continue to protect health, promote peace, and act for humanity. Because every act of care brings hope.

💊🌍 Quality medicines for humanity: Medicines in Crisis Settings 🌍💊

Access to safe, effective, and quality medicines is a fundamental human right. Yet in humanitarian crises, conflicts, natural disasters, and displacement can disrupt healthcare systems and threaten medicine safety.

Substandard and falsified medicines, poor storage conditions, medicine shortages, and weak regulatory oversight place vulnerable populations at greater risk. These challenges can result in treatment failure, worsening illness, and preventable harm.

As pharmacy students and future healthcare professionals, we have a responsibility to raise awareness, promote the safe use of medicines, and advocate for equitable access to quality healthcare. 🩺✨

Every patient deserves safe treatment, regardless of their circumstances. Together, through awareness, education, and advocacy, we can help build safer healthcare systems for communities worldwide.

Pharmacy education looks different across the world and understanding these differences matters.

This IPSF initiative analysed pharmacy education systems from 33 countries across all 5 IPSF regions, creating one of the most diverse student-led mappings of pharmacy education systems globally.
