YAMA’S
Ahimsa
Is overwegend voor zachtheid en geweldloosheid kiezen. Voelend in meest zachte leven.
Satya
Brahmacharya
Jezelf bij je houden, geen energie verspillen. Aan dichte deuren bonken of onbewust jezelf weggeven.
NIYAMA’S
Saucha
Rein zijn in het zijn. Smeer, stagnatie, leugens, viezigheid in alle lagen is waar Saucha vrij van is.
Santosha
In tevredenheid, contentment.
Tapas
In vurige, gepassioneerde discipline.

YAMAS
Ahimsa
Choosing gentleness and non-violence above all. Feeling your way through life in the softest manner possible.
Satya
Being in truth with what is right and also with what is muddy and unclear. Standing in that truth, even when it means leaving something behind.
Asteya
Being full of yourself, for stealing only happens when we believe something else is better than ourselves.
Aparigraha
Living in contentment, knowing the difference between wanting and needing. Not grasping, but carrying only what truly belongs to you. How does that value feel?
Brahmacharya
Keeping yourself with yourself, not wasting your energy. Not banging on closed doors or unconsciously giving yourself away.
NIYAMAS
Saucha
Being pure in your being. Dirt, stagnation, lies, and impurity on all levels are what Saucha is free from.
Santosha
Living in contentment. Adapting the form to what is, while contentment itself is a state of being. It is within, conscious, and grounded in one’s own nature.
Tapas
Living with fiery, passionate discipline. Living as if it were your last day. If this were your final day, what would you want to say, do, and be? How does that fiery, disciplined attitude feel within you now, if tomorrow were not guaranteed? Do you still have principles?
Svadhyaya
Studying yourself, making no assumptions that you already know, and thereby avoiding many unnecessary blows that come from identifying with a fixed form. There is no moment when you can know everything. Only when we always have answers to what, why, and how do we imagine ourselves realized, no longer seeing any need for questions or techniques.
Ishvarapranidhana
Knowing that you are not that important. That others are not occupied with you, but with themselves, just as you are with yourself. That there is no need to seek control—look around at the world in which you live. The Earth and the universe provide everything you truly need. Truly. We only need to see that control is an illusion, to trust, and to recognize that everything is already as it should be. You are already here.
