What to do if your dog has a seizure

Stay calm. Keep your dog away from objects that could cause injury. Never put your hand or anything inside the mouth and don’t try to restrain the dog. Time the seizure. If it lasts more than 5 minutes, happens repeatedly, or your dog doesn’t recover normally, seek veterinary help immediately.
