We are extremely honored to share a new paper from Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CCLM) on the Snibe small molecule sandwich reagent—the angiotensin I (Ang I) assay.
Ang I can reflects the plasma renin activity (PRA) and functional status of the renin angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS). In traditional immunoassays, small molecules typically present limited epitope due to their compact size and steric constraints, which has long confined them to competitive detection formats. Unfortunately, this approach comes with inherent trade-offs—particularly limited sensitivity and suboptimal specificity, especially at low concentrations—while also posing challenges for automation.
To address these methodological challenges, Snibe developed a small molecule sandwich chemiluminescence assay. This study suggests that the Snibe MAGLUMI® Ang I sandwich assay exhibits excellent agreement with the LC MS/MS gold standard in both Ang I detection and derived PRA. Even at low PRA levels, the agreement remains outstanding. Please find the link to the original paper below.
