Day 2 of the UNCRPD Workshop turning learning into stronger understanding and action. 💙

The second day continued with meaningful discussions on Articles 12 and 19 of the UNCRPD, bringing together persons with autism, parents, caregivers, and teachers to deepen understanding of rights, independent living, inclusion, and participation in the community.

Organized by AutismCare Nepal Society with support from the Disability Rights Fund, the two-day workshop concluded with shared learning, valuable reflections, and a stronger collective commitment to disability rights.

A meaningful first day filled with learning, interaction, and important conversations around Articles 12 and 19 of the UNCRPD, with persons with autism, parents, caregivers, and teachers coming together to better understand rights, independent living, and inclusion in the community.

🌟 A Moment of Pride, Happiness & New Beginnings! 💐

We are filled with immense joy and pride to celebrate a wonderful milestone in the lives of four of our trainees who have successfully secured employment! 🎉👏

Watching our trainees receive and sign their employment contracts is a truly heartwarming and meaningful moment. This is more than just a job—it is a significant step towards independence, confidence, dignity, self-reliance, and a meaningful future. 💙

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Aakar Foundation for this wonderful initiative and for creating opportunities for our trainees to showcase their abilities, develop their potential, and move forward towards greater independence.

We are truly grateful to Sophie McNally, an Occupational Therapist and Australian Volunteer, for her wonderful contribution to the Occupational Therapy Department at Autism Care Nepal Society (ACNS).

Throughout her time with us, Sophie showed incredible dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment. Her teaching, guidance, support, and motivation have helped us build the capacity of our OT team and strengthen our OT services. Her contribution will continue to make a difference even after she leaves.

A heartfelt thank you to the Australian Volunteers Program and the Australian Embassy for supporting this meaningful partnership and creating this valuable opportunity for learning, capacity building, and professional growth.

And Sophie, thank you for being such an important part of our journey. We truly appreciate everything you have shared with us and the positive impact you have made.

We are sad to see you go, but we are happy to say “See you again!”.
