A wee morning tea at Ostend Medical to celebrate our amazing team because ...

We just received the quarterly results of the national patient survey and 100% of respondents said that the team at Ostend:

Definitely listened to them
Definitely informed them about their condition
Definitely treated them with respect and kindness
Definitely involved them in making decisions about their care
Definitely made them feel comfortable asking questions

We couldn't be more proud and thank all of our patients who participated in the survey!

We have a bit of exciting Friday news to share, Waiheke ...

Dr Roddy MacVicar (shown here with his partner Nastassja) will be joining Ostend Medical as a full-time GP on the 2nd of November!

Roddy says, 'Kia ora, I'm thrilled to be making Waiheke my new home and joining the local team as a GP. I am originally from Scotland but have lived in New Zealand for 5 years. When I'm not at work I love fishing, diving and everything outdoors. I look forward to supporting the community's health and getting to know you all!'

There are only 2 appointments left for Dr Alistair Somerville's July Men's Clinic at Ostend Medical, so we thought we'd share the great feedback we just received from one of his recent patients.

Alistair offers both Well Men checks and support for guys who are experiencing ED, so if you're overdue for a comprehensive general health check or have specific sexual health concerns you'd like to discuss, call or email us to grab one of the last appointments for 29 July.

You don't need to be registered with us at Ostend Medical to see Alistair, as his clinic is designed to sit alongside your regular primary care rather than replace it.

We had not one, but two, beautiful compliments from patients for our nurses on Monday that we just had to share.

We agree completely that GG and Sam couldn't be more fun, thoughtful and knowledgeable and feel incredibly fortunate to call these amazing nurses our colleagues at Ostend Medical Centre!

Anyone who attended our Men's Health Matters evening events will remember the practical and down-to-earth advice from men's health specialist, Dr Alistair Somerville of Auckland Men's Clinic.

If you or a man in your life has been holding off on a health WOF, we have great news for you - Alistair is opening his first ever satellite clinic right here on Waiheke at Ostend Medical Centre! Appointments are now available for 15 June and 29 July.

The clinic offers Well Man Checks, sexual health care, and support following prostate cancer surgery, all in confidential, 30-minute appointments. Men do not need to be enrolled at Ostend Medical Centre to book, and the service is designed to work alongside, not replace, care from an existing GP.

We have been incredibly fortunate at Ostend Medical to have hosted Naomi and Luke from the University of Sunderland for their international GP training placement over the past month.

Luke and Naomi joined us as medical students, but were officially Register Doctors by the end of their placement and are now returning to the UK to start their careers in the NHS.

Not only did they do an incredible job working with Ostend Medical's patients, they spent valuable time out in the community with the healthcare providers from Waiheke Health Trust, Well Child Waiheke Health Trust and Piritahi Hau Ora.

We loved hosting them and are thrilled that their time with us cemented their desire to work as GPs in rural health and their wish to someday return to our beautiful island.
