Kia Ora E nga iwi,
It sure has been a minute since I lasted posted but know I am still here doing my best. Things have been absolutely crazy at the moment and hopefully one day I will share but right now if you know then you know.

My mental health has had a major hit but the resilience in me is not letting this sit too long. My studies have been absolutely exhausting but absorbing as much as I can before I hit the big bad world on my own as a registered and qualified psychologist.

My Health is shocking and all the weight has found its way back 🤣. However, I got rid of it once I know I can do it again. Therefore, back on the waka hopefully this time we can have some whānau and friends jump on the waka. I really want to join round the bays next year so definitely need to pick up the pace on that once.

I am hoping to get back into posting and sharing my hauora journey as I find myself again. So whānau watch this space, and nau mai haere mai. I feel like this one is going to be even better than the last. Sending aroha to those near and far, untill next time PEACE ✌️

Kia Ora e nga iwi,
It sure has been a roller coaster in this thing we call life. This post has unfortunately been triggered by the emotional torment of a loved one dealing with addiction. The details of such is not mine to share nor hold. However, this insight comes from the perspective of the outsider.

I am confident in knowing that I am not alone in the mamae that comes with consequences of supporting those with addiction. After growing up in an environment as a young teen charged by violence, drugs, and abuse it was a vowel to ensure I would not pass this down to my tamariki. Have I kept that vowel? In all honesty, not to the standard that I have wanted. Have I stayed true to the path, absolutely!

This is a mihi tautoko to those who are, or have been in a supporting role in this space. I for one can honestly say it is not easy to carry the weight of those that you love who are struggling. It is not easy to sit with the abuse that you endure to show that you care. The sleepless nights, the constant worry, and the emotional dysregulation that often you must hide to keep them regulated.

The walking on eggshells so you don't trigger them, the repetition of behaviour, the 100s of meetings, the constant phone calls, the tears, the heartache, and the pain just to end up back at square 1. This is a shout out to you!!! You are not alone, you are seen, you are a superstar 🌟.

People will throw shade without context, they will point fingers, without lifting one of their own. They will tear you down till you have nothing left but when you finally react you are seen as the problem. Well, I am here to tell you and myself you are not!

Like everything in life this too shall pass. For now I will hold the space and the learning for what it was. However, I will no longer be the punching bag nor the dump truck anymore. You can lead one to water, but you can't force them to drink it. Sending aroha to you all, where ever you are be safe out there whānau. Until next, PEACE ✌️

Kia Ora e nga iwi, it has been a very emotional whirlwind the last few weeks. My world was unexpectedly turned upside down due to the loss of my beautiful nana Iris Tepania. This wahine was my biggest cheerleader, and touched the hearts of many.

She supported me in ways that most nanas do and did it with aroha, mana, and grace. It has been a rollercoaster of emotions as we gathered together with whānau, life long friends, and colleagues near and far to lay her to rest in Waihapa.

There will never be a day I won't think of you nan. Gone too soon, but will never be forgotten. E moe, e moe, e moe mai ra 💔💔💔

Kia Ora e nga iwi, its been a minute so thought I would update yall. We are second week into internship classes. I have not yet started but hoping to in the next few weeks. The nerves are increasing but feeling excited at the same time.

In terms of health, I broke my walking streak 😡 but hei thats ok. Since being back with the study crew we all decided to join the gym. So Monday classes are gym sessions afterwards which personally I think is really cool. Morning routines are starting back up with me and my daughter. Watch this space whanau, skipping is back.

Did I tell you, my girl has started weightlifting for school. So every Wednesday she gets her own 1 hour gym session. She's enjoying it and has signed up to Volleyball, curling, and badminton. So this year is going to be fun 😀.

Not much else from me whanau, except for a 3000 word essay that I want submitted before starting internship. However, we will see how that goes. Anyway thats, until next time ✌️

I got the job e nga iwi 😀... after having the day to reflect I am beyond grateful for the opportunity I have been given. This has now secured me to complete my internship so I can become a registered counselling psychologist.

Though it was no easy feat with high stress, depleting anxiety, restless nights, and being in a constant space of uncertainty we made it through.

Now the unfortunate side of this whole ordeal is that I have assignments to submit 😆. Big shout out to those who just had faith, thanks to my whānau near and far. Thank you to my new found study buddies for being on this roller coaster with me. Let's finish this dam year with a bang. Sending nothing but love to you all, off to class now ✌️

I just completed a very important interview that will dictate the next steps in my psychology journey. I did all the things in preparation and feel amazing post interview. However, as amazing as you may feel you just never know the outcome when your fate is in the hands of others.

Whilst I await the life changing news, I tend to enjoy the sunshine. Check in with the babies and prepare the upcoming group assignment that is due next week 😜. Blessings to all on this beautiful day, mauria Ora ###

Kia Ora e nga iwi, its a brand new week and we are back at Uni for ethics class. First day back and I am feeling a little nervous, but excited at the same time. We managed to get an early night so this morning I am feeling ready to go.

I am manifesting an awesome day, productive week ahead and some blissful learning opportunities. Short and sweet whānau, but everyone is have a great start the week x

Kia Ora e nga iwi, how is everyone doing so far? As the kids head back to school and routines start to kick back in life is feeling really good. There are still some minor uncertainties lurking about, but I am learning to stay positive and hopeful.

In terms of health, my walking streak is still going strong. Hit my personal best of 16,000 steps after climbing a big maunga with my baby. Though we are still reaching our 10,000 step goals per day I do feel like my body is craving more. So I am hoping to bring some cardio back into my routine in the form of skipping. Its always been a fun way for me to stay active and definitely a great way to drop some kgs.

I should be starting my ethics block course next week so I'm excited to see the crew again. Then if all goes well over the next few weeks I too should be starting my internship as Counselling Psychologist intern. This will be the final step for study and then I can venture out to start working towards what I have worked so dam hard for.

I have always had a passion to work with others, to support their mental health, to guide those in finding their own super power. I have had my fair share of trauma, failures, and let downs. Therefore, I know how damaging and lonely that pathway can be. So I hope if you ever cross my path whether long term or for a brief moment that I can make a positive difference and offer you the insights to see your true potential. Watch this space whānau, Im feeling motivated. Until next time, PEACE ✌️

Took a stroll around the Auckland domain yesterday. I decided to take an easy stroll as I didn't have the kids and had been on two major hikes and need to rest my legs. Walking each day has made me appreciate the beauty in which have here in Aotearoa.
