This Women's Health Week (10–16 August), we're taking a moment to remind every wahine in our lives, including mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, aunties and friends, that your health matters, too. So often women put themselves last, quietly carrying the wellbeing of everyone around them. This week is a reminder that looking after yourself isn't selfish, it's essential.

Auckland Radiology is proud to stand alongside Sarcoma NZ once again this July - because early detection saves lives.

Sarcoma is a rare cancer that can affect anyone, at any age. It can be easy to miss, but the signs are worth knowing:
- A lump larger than a golf ball, located deep beneath the skin
- Persistent pain, swelling, or a growing lump in a limb - particularly in children or young adults
- Any mass that is increasing in size, painful, or causing pain at night

If something doesn't feel right, trust your instincts. Talk to your GP or specialist and ask about imaging. An early referral can be life-changing.

Radiology plays a critical role in identifying sarcoma at its earliest stage - and that's a role we take seriously every single day, not just in July.

June is Bowel Cancer Awareness Month - a good reminder that early detection saves lives.

Bowel cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers in New Zealand, yet when caught early it's also one of the most treatable. That's where CT Colonography comes in.

Also known as virtual colonoscopy, CT Colonography uses advanced 3D imaging to examine the entire colon along with the surrounding abdominal area. It's quick, highly accurate, and doesn't require sedation - making it a less invasive first-line option for many people.

You might want to consider talking to your GP or specialist about CT Colonography if you:

- Are 45 or older
- Have noticed changes in your bowel habits or other symptoms
- Have a family history of colorectal cancer

Sarcoma is a rare cancer that can affect people of any age, and early detection makes a real difference. As a radiology provider, we know how critical imaging is in identifying sarcoma early - and we're committed to playing our part in that journey.

Some important signs to be aware of:
- A lump larger than a golf ball, located deep to the fascia
- Persistent pain, swelling, or a lump in a limb - especially in children or young adults
- Any mass that is growing, painful, or causing night pain
