Honoured to have Vea Funeral Home represented at the National Party Pacific Fono tonight, alongside our Funeral Director, Okusitino Paseka.

It was a privilege for Okusitino to speak proudly about Vea Funeral Home, the work we do in serving families and our community, and the values that guide us.

A special highlight of the evening was seeing our boss, Hailame Vea, have the opportunity to meet the Prime Minister, Rt Hon Christopher Luxon.

We are grateful for the opportunity to represent Vea Funeral Home and to continue building meaningful connections within our Pacific community. 🇹🇴🙏🏽

🇹🇴 Ko te Wiki o te reo Lea Faka-Tonga 🇹🇴

This year’s theme, “Ko ʻetau hiva, ko e feʻunu mahuʻinga ia ki he moʻui ʻa e Tonga” — “Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture”

Do not be afraid to speak what you know. Learn from your elders. Sing the song. You do not have to choose between being a New Zealander and being a proud Tongan — you can be both.

Sometimes it is through singing that we find our language again. We find the words of our grandparents and reconnect with those who came before us. Hiva is more than a performance — it keeps our language, identity, faith and the aspirations of our ancestors alive for the generations still to come.

As Psalm 100 reminds us, “come before His presence with singing.” 🎶

May our Tongan tauira continue to speak what they know, learn what they do not yet know, listen to their elders and sing the songs that connect them to those who came before and those who will come after.

Long may Lea Faka-Tonga be spoken, sung, celebrated and passed from generation to generation.

Mālō ‘aupito. 🇹🇴

With heartfelt gratitude, we would like to thank everyone who helped with the funeral arrangements for our beloved Olivia Maʻu Fatafehi.

Your love, generosity, prayers, and acts of kindness made everything possible and allowed us to give Olivia a beautiful and dignified farewell.

A very special thank you to Faifekau Sea Kalolo Fihaki and Faifekau P**e Kuli Fisiʻiahi for your spiritual guidance, prayers, and unwavering support throughout this difficult time.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Kulupu Kakai Tangata ʻa Mounga Heamoni Northcote (“Ioke Taha Mo Sisu”) for paying the cemetery fee, also to the Vahefonua Methodist Auckland/Manukau women’s fellowship for their generous donation to the niece, and to the wider Vahefonua Tonga Methodist Church family. Your love, generosity, practical help, and constant prayers brought great comfort and made this journey much easier for Olivia’s niece.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to:

* Tuai Kae Pau – Catering
* Tiare Maumau – Decorations
* George Fusituʻa – Livestream Services

Thank you for so generously providing your services free of charge. Your kindness and willingness to serve will never be forgotten.

Finally, to everyone who attended, sent messages, prayed, brought food, or came to pay your respects, thank you for surrounding Olivia with such love and honouring her memory.

May God richly bless each and every one of you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9
