Meet Yasmin, the newest member of the Mortimer Hirst clinical team.
Yasmin is a therapeutically qualified optometrist who is passionate about providing personalised, thorough eye care and helping patients feel informed and confident about their vision and eye health.
Originally from Wellington, Yasmin completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (First Class Honours) at the University of Otago before earning her Bachelor of Optometry (First Class Honours) at the University of Auckland. Her outstanding academic achievements were recognised with multiple awards, including the Raymond Harry Hawkins Prize for the top undergraduate optometry research project and the Michael Kallionatis Prize, awarded to the student entering their final year with the highest academic marks.
She began her career in South Auckland, caring for a diverse community with a wide range of eye health needs. This experience sparked a special interest in specialised contact lenses and the early detection and management of eye disease.
Yasmin joined Mortimer Hirst to further develop these interests within a practice renowned for clinical excellence and innovation.
She believes exceptional eye care is about more than prescribing glasses. By taking the time to understand each patient's lifestyle, concerns and visual goals, Yasmin creates personalised care that supports lifelong eye health.
Outside the practice, you'll find her hiking, cycling, practising yoga, knitting, reading or planning her next adventure.
Please join us in giving Yasmin a warm Mortimer Hirst welcome.
